The present disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatuses for inducing a desired biological response in an organism through the use of one or more repetitive signals from one or a series of LED lights designed to emit the signal with multiple pulsed components. Each component of the signal contains a one or more light color spectrum or wavelength that is within 50 nm of the peak absorption of a photon receptor of the organism corresponding to the desired biological response. Each component has a repetitive ON duration with an OFF duration and an intensity where the relationship between the ON duration and OFF duration of the first component and the second component induces the desired response in the organism through the stimulation or excitation of a molecule associated with a photoreceptor and the reset of the molecule.

For each group of plants, each plant has a substantially similar photoperiod and a sum of the photosynthetic photon flux densities (“PPFDs”) of all plants in the group of plants is substantially similar.

A horticultural luminaire includes a first and second horticultural light sources to provide growth lighting to a plant at a first and second wavelengths. A control unit provides first lighting control signals to the first horticultural light source to modulate the first growth lighting and provides second lighting control signals to the second horticultural light source to modulate the second growth lighting. A LiDAR sensor is connected to the lighting control unit to receive the first and second control signals, and having optics to detect reflected first and second growth lighting to determine the distance from plant to sensor and a biometric property of the plant from the received first and second control signals and detected first and second reflected second growth lighting. In some implementations the LiDAR sensor and first and second horticultural light sources are integrated into the horticultural luminaire.

The method also comprises: receiving search parameters relative to user defined lighting scenario attributes, generating a scenario data inquiry relative to the user defined lighting scenario attributes and querying the data storage to identify and retrieve lighting scenarios having lighting scenario attributes matching the searched parameters; and receiving a trading request for one of the retrieved lighting scenarios, retrieving the trading policies of the corresponding lighting scenario and enforcing the trading policies of the corresponding lighting scenario. A system for managing horticultural lighting scenarios is also provided.
