Lightweight tire

A tire has an axis of rotation. The tire includes two inextensible annular bead structures for attachment to a vehicle rim, a carcass-like structure having at least one reinforced ply, the carcass-like structure being wound about the two bead structures, a tread disposed radially outward of the carcass-like structure, and a shear band structure disposed radially between the carcass-like structure and the tread. The two bead structures include at least one layer of a three dimensional fabric including a tear drop frame structure and open cells defined by the tear drop frame structure.

A pneumatic tire includes an up ply, a down ply, and a cord reinforcing layer. The up ply has: a main body section and a wound section. The down ply is provided on a tire outer surface side of the up ply. The cord reinforcing layer is provided from the inner side to the outer side in the tire axial direction of the bead core to cover the up ply, and has reinforcing cords. A tip of the wound section is located outward in a tire radial direction from a rim flange. An outer end in the tire axial direction of the cord reinforcing layer is located outward in the tire radial direction from a bead upper line and inward in the tire radial direction from the rim flange. The bead upper line extends from an outer surface in the tire radial direction of the bead core.

The present disclosure describes a self-repairing article comprising an inflatable component comprising one or more material layers wherein at least one material layer comprises an elastomer. It also describes a self-repairing article comprising a sealed flexible package disposed within or between material layers of the inflatable component, and a repair composition disposed in the sealed flexible package, wherein the sealed flexible package comprises a metal foil and is configured to release the repair composition upon puncture of the inflatable component.

Tire cord fabric

A tire cord fabric having paired cords used as warps. The fabric is suitable for use in pneumatic tires as carcass and cap ply reinforcement, enabling the use of less rubber and higher cord content in a specified cord-rubber composite volume.

Tire Including A Knitted Fabric Having Variable Properties

Tire (10) comprises a knit (44) comprising: columns of loops, the loops of one and the same column being arranged one after the other substantially in an overall direction referred to as the main direction and rows of said loops, the loops of one and the same row being arranged one beside the other substantially in an overall direction referred to as the transverse direction. The knit (44) comprises first and second zones (45.sub.1, 45.sub.2), each respectively having, at least in one of the main or transverse directions, a force FT.sub.100 and FS.sub.100 at 100% elongation that satisfies FS.sub.100<FT.sub.100, each force FT.sub.100 and FS.sub.100 being determined from a force-elongation curve obtained by applying standard ISO 13934-1:2013 to the knit before it is incorporated into the tire (10).
