TIRE WITH LAMINATE

A lamella, membrane, or overlay for use in a tire is provided. A lamella, membrane, or overlay is a thin layer of material (distinct from a subtread, tread base, or undercushion), disposed above reinforcing belts, that primarily extends circumferentially and axially. The lamella, membrane, or overlay reduces strain fields within the tire, reduces internal temperatures within the tire, enhances rolling resistance, and improves tire durability. The lamella, membrane, or overlay may be used in various tire applications, including without limitation, truck-and-bus-radial (TBR), heavy-duty, and passenger/light truck (PLTD) tire applications.

Tire

A tread of a tire can include a cap layer and a base layer. A loss tangent of the cap layer at 30? C. may be not greater than 0.30, and a loss tangent of the base layer at 30? C. may be less than the loss tangent of the cap layer at 30? C. The base layer can be inward of a reference end of the tread in an axial direction A fixing layer can be between the cap layer and a carcass in a radial direction. A first end of the fixing layer can be outward of an end of the base layer in the axial direction, or a position of the first end of the fixing layer can coincide with a position of the end of the base layer in the axial direction. Adhesiveness of the fixing layer can be higher than adhesiveness of the cap layer.

Tire having a conductive path in a sidewall

A tire includes a circumferential tread disposed in a crown region of the tire and an undertread disposed below the circumferential tread. The tire also has a pair of bead regions, including a first bead region and a second bead region, and a body ply extending from the first bead region to the second bead region. The tire further has a pair of sidewalls, including a first sidewall extending between the first bead region and the circumferential tread and a second sidewall extending between the second bead region and the circumferential tread. The tire also has a sidewall antenna adjacent to the first sidewall. The sidewall antenna has a first end contacting the undertread and a second end contacting the body ply.

Tire comprising a crown reinforcement formed of two working crown layers having unequal axial widths, layer C of rubber compound between ends of the working crown layers, layer S of polymer compound in contact with at least one working crown layer and in contact with the carcass reinforcement and the crown reinforcement comprising a layer of circumferential reinforcing elements arranged radially between two working crown layers. Distance d between the end of the axially narrowest working layer and the working layer separated from the axially narrowest working layer by the layer C is 1.1<d<2.2, being the diameter of the reinforcing elements of the layer of circumferential reinforcing elements, in a meridian plane. The thickness of layer C is substantially constant and the complex dynamic shear modulus G*, measured at 10% and 60 C. on the return cycle, of layer S is greater than 1.35 MPa.

Run-flat tire

A run-flat tire includes a reinforcing rubber layer with a roughly crescent-shaped meridian cross-section disposed in sidewall portions at both sides in a tire width direction. The tread portion is provided formed of a tread rubber that includes a cap tread rubber and an undertread rubber disposed on an inner side of the cap tread rubber in a tire radial direction and having a higher hardness than the cap tread rubber. In a meridian cross-section, a gauge of the undertread rubber on a shoulder land portion on an outer side of an outermost main groove located furthest outward in the tire width direction is thicker than a gauge of the undertread rubber of a center land portion closest to a tire equatorial plane.
