The reinforcing ply (1) satisfies the following condition: (D.sup.2/E.sub.0) in mm corresponds to a value in a range from 0.22 mm to 0.38 mm, and the reinforcing ply (1) has a strength of >10 kN/dm, where D is the diameter of the textile strengthening member (2) in mm and lies in a range from 0.38 mm to 0.52 mm, and where E.sub.0=100/epdm.
TIRE WITH OPTIMIZED CROWN AND TREAD
Tires comprising a hoop reinforcement (5) and 2 crossed working layers (41, 42) in which the breaking strength R.sub.C of each working layer (41, 42) is at least equal to 30 000 N/dm have improved endurance. The working layers comprise reinforcing elements made up of individual metal threads or monofilaments having a cross section at least equal to 0.20 mm and at most equal to 0.5 mm. The density of reinforcing elements in each working layer is at least equal to 100 threads per dm and at most equal to 200 threads per dm. The tire also comprises axially exterior cuts (25). At least one of the two axially exterior portions of the tread comprises a rubbery material having a Shore hardness at least equal to 48 and at most equal to 60.
REINFORCED FABRIC COMPRISING A PLURALITY OF METAL REINFORCING ELEMENTS
A reinforced fabric comprises a plurality of metal reinforcing elements arranged in a transverse direction, substantially parallel to each other and extending in a main direction perpendicular to the transverse direction, embedded in an elastomer composition based on at least one elastomer, a reinforcing filler, and a crosslinking system, each metal reinforcing element having, in a plane perpendicular to the main direction, a cross-section inscribed in a rectangle of length W and a height T.
TIRE
A tire includes a tread portion; a pair of bead portions; a pair of sidewall portions, each of which extend between the tread portion and a respective bead portion; a carcass that extends from one bead portion to the other, through the sidewall portions and tread portion; and an inner surface that defines a tire cavity; wherein the tread portion comprises a belt disposed outside of the carcass in a radial direction of the tire, the belt comprising one or more belt plies that extend in an axial direction of the tire; wherein each sidewall portion comprises an intermediate layer arranged inward in the tire radial direction from the carcass, wherein each intermediate layer comprises an outer edge that overlaps the belt and an inner edge arranged in the sidewall portion or bead portion; wherein the tire further comprises an inner layer arranged inward in the tire radial direction from the tread portion, the inner layer having a thickness in the radial direction defined by the carcass and inner surface; and wherein the thickness of the inner layer is greater than a thickness between the carcass and inner surface in the sidewall portions.
RUBBER-CORD COMPOSITE, REINFORCING MEMBER FOR TIRES, AND TIRE USING SAME
Provided is a rubber-cord composite, a tire reinforcing member including the composite, and a tire including the reinforcing member. The rubber-cord composite includes a reinforcing cord, and the composite forms a spiral cord layer in the tire reinforcing member. The twist coefficient of the reinforcing cord is greater than 0.3.
The twist coefficient of the reinforcing cord is 0.3 or less.
Pneumatic tire
[Object] A pneumatic tire that allows reduction of the occurrence of a TGC and, at the same time, allows reduction of rolling resistance, is provided. [Solution] The tire 12 includes a band 26 disposed radially inward of a tread 14, and a belt 24 disposed radially inward of the band 26. The band 26 includes a cord that is helically wound and extends substantially in a circumferential direction. The belt 24 includes an inner layer 24a, and an outer layer 24b that is layered over the inner layer 24a and disposed radially outward of the inner layer 24a. The inner layer 24a and the outer layer 24b each include multiple cords aligned with each other. The cords in the inner layer 24a and the cords in the outer layer 24b are inclined relative to an equator plane. A direction in which the cords in the inner layer 24a are inclined relative to the equator plane is opposite to a direction in which the cords in the outer layer 24b are inclined relative to the equator plane.
