A tire having a tread portion provided with a first circumferential groove and a second circumferential groove each extending in the tire circumferential direction, and lateral grooves connecting between the first circumferential groove and the second circumferential groove. The first circumferential groove extends zigzag and comprises a radially outer first portion having the smallest width and a radially inner second portion having a width larger than that of the first portion.

Tread comprising interrupted grooves

Tread (1) for a tire of a heavy-duty vehicle, having a tread surface (10), this tread (1) comprising, near to each of its edges (11), a plurality of open wells (2) on the tread surface when new, these open wells (2) of depth Pmax being arranged circumferentially with a mean distance D between two consecutive open wells; each open well (2) being delimited by two main faces (21, 22) facing one another, this tread being such that each open well (2) is connected to at least one hidden cavity (32) formed within the tread, this hidden cavity (32) opening into a main face (21, 22) of said well.

Tire for preventing irregular tread wear
20190329600 · 2019-10-31 · ·

A tire includes a reinforcing rib formed on a groove to prevent irregular wear of a tread and including an auxiliary hidden groove formed in the groove to enhance capabilities of water absorption and drainage of the tire even when the reinforcing rib is formed on the groove. The tire can include a reinforcing rib coupled to a first sidewall, which is one of both sidewalls forming the groove, and protruding toward the groove from the first sidewall, a hidden groove formed in one portion of a second sidewall which is the other of the sidewalls forming the groove, and a remaining tread part protruding toward the groove from a side surface of the hidden groove, the remaining tread part being the other portion of the second sidewall.

TIRE WITH ENHANCED WET GRIP

Provided is a tire capable of efficiently discharging water, which is additionally absorbed through a plurality of flow tubes, through the flow tubes and a drain tube, thereby improving wet grip performance. The tire with enhanced wet grip includes a kerf formed on a block to discharge water introduced thereinto to a groove, a drain tube formed in the kerf in its longitudinal direction and connected to the groove to discharge the water to the groove, and a flow tube formed in the kerf toward the drain tube from an inlet of the kerf, into which the water is introduced, and connected to the groove or the drain tube.

TYRE

A tyre includes a tread portion including a tread surface which is provided with grooves. At least one of the grooves includes a widening-width portion at least partially. The widening-width portion includes a first groove portion extending inwardly in a tyre radial direction from the tread surface, and a second groove portion located inwardly in the tyre radial direction of the first groove portion and having a groove width greater than that of the first groove portion.

Truck tire having water flow orienting tread feature

A heavy truck tire tread (12) is provided that has a partially hidden longitudinal groove (22) with an undersurface channel (24) engaged by a longitudinal sipe (26). The partially hidden longitudinal groove (22) has a surface opening (28) that extends from a surface of the tread to the undersurface channel (24). The tread (12) has at least one of two features. The first feature is that the surface opening (28) extends from the surface to the undersurface channel (24) at an angle to the thickness direction such that the surface opening (28) at the surface is forward of the surface opening (28) at the undersurface channel (24) in the rolling direction (20). The second feature is that a lateral sipe (32) engages the surface opening (28) so that the first end is at the surface opening (28), and the second end is forward of the first end in the rolling direction (20).
