METHOD OF DETERMINING THE HEALTH OF A TIRE ON A VEHICLE
20200247195 · 2020-08-06 ·

A method of determining the health of a tire on a vehicle includes determining a total number of tire inflation events that have occurred due to a loss of tire pressure. A rate in which the tire inflation events have occurred is determined based on the total number of tire inflation events over a predetermined period of time. The health of a tire is determined by comparing the rate in which tire inflation events have occurred to a threshold rate.

The method includes: providing a pneumatic structure in which the medium is at a medium pressure that is a starting pressure; providing an adsorptive material operable within a range of temperatures that is proportionate with a range of medium pressures at which the pneumatic structure is operable; and adjusting a temperature of the adsorptive material to effect an adjustment of the medium pressure to the target pressure for performing a selected function. The system performs the method and includes the absorptive material and at least one regulator for adjusting the temperature of the adsorptive material.

Control circuit for controlling the pressure of a tire wheel

A control circuit for controlling the pressure of a wheel enclosing a first volume and a second volume includes a controlled pressure line, a first line, connectable to the controlled pressure line and connected to the first volume for introducing air inside the first volume, and a second line, connectable to the controlled pressure line and connected to the second volume for introducing air inside the second volume. The control circuit further includes a first spool valve, which is a three way-two positions valve, having a first position in which the controlled pressure line is connected to the first line, and a second position, in which the controlled pressure line is connected to the second line. The first spool valve switches from the first position to the second position if the pressure in the first volume exceeds a predetermined pressure.

Tire inflation system for an agricultural system

A tire inflation system for a work vehicle includes a controller with a memory and a processor, where the controller is configured to perform an iterative process until a stopping condition is reached. The iterative process includes receiving a tire pressure sensor signal indicative of a tire pressure a one tire, receiving a draft load sensor signal indicative of a draft load on the work vehicle, determining a draft load difference between the draft load and a maximum draft load, and outputting a target tire pressure output signal indicative of instructions to adjust the tire pressure of the tire in response to determining that the draft load difference is greater than or equal to a first threshold value. The stopping condition includes determining that the draft load difference is less than the first threshold value, determining that a variation in the draft load between iterations is less than a second threshold value, determining that a maximum runtime is reached, and determining that a maximum number of iterations is reached.

The non-fixed rotating member has at least one second seal surface, wherein an air chamber defined within a volume between interacting the at least one first seal surface and the at least one second seal surface causes fluid communication between an interior space of the tire and the compressed air source.

Valve assembly for a tire pressure management system

A valve assembly for a tire pressure management system includes a housing having a first perforation and a second perforation. The first perforation is selectively in fluid communication with the second perforation. A shuttle assembly is provided in the housing. A failsafe piston is connected to the shuttle assembly. A first biasing member applies a bias to the failsafe piston. A second biasing member applies a bias to the shuttle assembly. When a pressure differential between a pressure in the second perforation and a pressure in the first perforation is at or below a predetermined value, the bias applied by the first biasing member urges the failsafe piston toward the shuttle assembly to prevent fluid communication between the first perforation and the second perforation.
