A warning control unit of this tire air pressure monitoring device starts giving a driver a tire air pressure fall warning when a tire air pressure is equal to or lower than a first threshold. The warning control unit stops the warning when the tire air pressure becomes equal to or higher than a second threshold that is set based on a tire temperature in a case where the warning is being given. The warning control unit uses a constant value unrelated to a detected tire temperature as the first threshold, and uses a value obtained by adding a variable value, which is obtained by adding a positive constant value to a value that increases as a temperature difference obtained by subtracting a tire temperature at the time of the issuance of the warning from a current tire temperature increases, to the first threshold, as the second threshold.

Systems for detecting and monitoring tire pressure and temperature during a tire repair or replacement procedure are provided. The systems are configured to communicate a warning signal to a plurality of individuals (e.g., tire maintenance personnel) upon the tire pressure or temperature exceeding a defined threshold (e.g., upon the tire pressure or temperature entering a dangerous range). The system generally includes three categories of components, namely, components associated with a truck (or large work machine) and the tire being analyzed; a tire handler component; and a device that is worn (or held) by tire maintenance personnel, with such components being configured to wirelessly communicate with each other.

The present invention provides a tire internal pressure warning system, comprising: an internal pressure data acquisition apparatus for obtaining data of internal pressure of each tire 5 of a vehicle 6 (a TPMS sensor transmitter 1 and a TPMS receiver 2); and an information terminal device 3 for determining whether there is a puncture-based failure or a failure resulting from a natural pressure drop, based on a change in the internal pressure of each tire received from the TPMS receiver 2, and displaying a warning in accordance with the failure condition.

Wheel theft detection and notification using a tire pressure monitoring system

Methods, apparatuses, systems, and computer program products for wheel theft detection and notification using a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) are disclosed. In a particular embodiment, wheel theft detection and notification using a TPMS includes monitoring, by an electronic control unit (ECU) of a vehicle, one or more parameters associated with a tire monitoring sensor (TMS) coupled to a wheel assembly of the vehicle. In this embodiment, the ECU determines, based on the monitored one or more parameters, that the wheel assembly is in a compromised state associated with the wheel assembly being dislocated from the vehicle or in danger of being dislocated from the vehicle. In response to determining that the wheel assembly is in the compromised state, the ECU triggers an alarm of a vehicle security system.
