TIRE MOUNTED SENSORS WITH CONTROLLED ORIENTATION AND REMOVAL DETECTION

Tire mounted sensors have controlled orientation with respect to a direction of vehicle travel when fitted to a tire of the vehicle. The tire mounted sensor includes a sensor housing containing a pressure and/or other type of sensor and electronic components which is inserted into a sensor mount attached to the tire. Controlling the orientation of the orientation-sensitive components relative to the direction of travel of the vehicle is achieved by indicating the direction of travel of the vehicle on the sensor mount. Controlling the orientation of the sensor housing within the sensor mount, preferably in all six axes of freedom, is achieved by an orientation key or asymmetrical feature on the sensor mount that corresponds to a mating feature on the sensor housing.

Tire pressure detector with protection shell
10583701 · 2020-03-10 · ·

A tire pressure detector with protection shell is applied to a wheel. The wheel has a rim having an air tap and a tire mounted around the rim, with an air pressure space formed between the tire and the rim. The tire pressure detector includes a shell and a detector body. The shell is movably disposed in the air pressure space, and the detector body is disposed in a housing space of the shell. The detector body is includes a detection module for detecting the air pressure in the air pressure space, generating a pressure signal, and wirelessly transmitting the pressure signal. Therefore, by improving the structural strength of the tire pressure detector with the shell, the tire pressure detector is conveniently installed without the need of other additional tools.

SPHERICAL TIRE PRESSURE DETECTION DEVICE

A spherical tire pressure detection device includes a tire pressure detector and a ball body. The tire pressure detector has a casing and a tire pressure detection member disposed in the casing. The tire pressure detection member detects the tire pressure in the tire. The casing is removably housed in the ball body, facilitating the replacement of the tire pressure detector.

In a vehicle wheel including a rim, a sub-air chamber member serving as a Helmholtz resonator, and a tire pressure sensor unit, the sub-air chamber member and the tire pressure sensor unit are integrated with each other to be mounted on the rim via an air valve. The tire pressure sensor unit is preferably integrated with the air valve. The vehicle wheel may be configured such that the sub-air chamber member is connected to the tire pressure sensor unit via a bracket, and the bracket is insert-molded in the sub-air chamber member. Moreover, an edge of the sub-air chamber member may be locked to a well part at an opposite side in a wheel width direction to the tire pressure sensor unit.

Tire damage detection system and method

A tire damage detection method includes a preliminary stage comprising: performing tests involving test tire impacts against/on different obstacles at different motor vehicle speeds; measuring/acquiring test-related wheel speeds during the performed tests; computing test-related normalized wheel speeds based on the test-related wheel speeds; and determining a predefined tire damage model based on the test-related normalized wheel speeds corresponding to the test tire impacts and of associated test-related average wheel speeds. A tire damage detection stage comprises: acquiring signals indicative of a motor vehicle wheel speed; computing, based on quantities indicative of the wheel speed, a normalized wheel speed indicative of a ratio of the wheel speed to an average wheel speed indicative of motor vehicle speed; and detecting potential damage to a tire of the wheel based on the predefined tire damage model and on the normalized wheel speed.

Packaging method for tire pressure monitoring sensor
11964520 · 2024-04-23 · ·

A packaging method for a tire pressure monitoring sensor includes a step of placing, a step of pouring, and a step of hardening. In the step of placing, a sensing transmission module is put into a cavity of a modeling unit, and a positioning portion in the cavity restricts the sensing transmission module from moving transversely and toward an inner bottom of the cavity. In the step of pouring, a rubber compound is poured into the cavity and fills the cavity. The sensing transmission module is coated by the rubber compound to form a case on the outer surface of the sensing transmission module. In the step of hardening, the case is hardened and integrally formed with the sensing transmission module to form a tire pressure monitoring sensor which is removed from the cavity.
