The present invention relates to a vehicle wheel comprising a hub, a rim and an inflatable tyre, in which the hub is situated around a rotation axle of the wheel, a compressor which is situated substantially inside the hub for compressing outside air, provided with an inlet for taking in air at atmospheric pressure and an outlet for delivering air at an increased pressure; a drive for driving the compressor, in which the drive is movable with respect to the rotation axle, in particular rotatable, more particularly rotatable in a direction opposite to that of the hub; an air reservoir for storing the air at increased pressure, in which the air reservoir is situated inside the rim of the wheel; a connection for connecting the outlet of the compressor to the air reservoir of the inflatable tyre of the wheel.
Mechanically driven tire pressure generation means
A wheel hub arrangement having a wheel hub for mounting a rim with an inflated tire. The wheel hub arrangement has a rotary piston compressor mounted rotatably on the wheel hub. The wheel hub arrangement has a switchable mechanical coupling device, by way of which the rotary piston compressor can be switched over between a compression mode, in which the rotary piston compressor can be actuated by way of a rotational movement relative to the mounted rim or the wheel hub, and a rest mode, in which it is passive and does not produce any compressed air on the outlet side, and the rotary piston compressor producing compressed air on the outlet side for filling the tire in the compression mode.
COMPRESSOR ASSEMBLY COMPRISING RADIAL PISTONS
A compressor assembly for supplying pressure medium to a tire cavity of a vehicle wheel that can be mounted on a wheel hub which is mounted on a wheel carrier so as to be rotatable about an axis of rotation. A transmission, preferably a cam mechanism, is equipped, through a cooperation of a wheel mount-side transmission part with a hub-side transmission part, to convert a rotary movement between the wheel mount side and the wheel hub side into an oscillating translatory movement of the compressor component, with the translatory movement of the compressor component extending at least partially, preferably entirely, in a radial direction that is oriented orthogonally to the axis of rotation.
