A support assembly for use with a tow hitch assembly attached to a vehicle that is utilized to support an apparatus which can be used with the vehicle and/or be utilized to carry bicycles or other items while simultaneously towing a towable vehicle. The support assembly provides a second receiver that supports the apparatus. The second receiver is attached to or integral with a component tube that is attached to the tow hitch assembly or an adapter attached to the tow hitch assembly. The adapter engages the exterior surfaces of the tow hitch assembly to not interfere with the tube opening that receives a hitch shaft of a towable vehicle. The adapter has an adapter collar, pair of side members that extend rearwardly from the adapter collar and a pair of arms that extend forwardly to connect the side members to the receiver of the tow hitch assembly.

A cutout that extends into the plate is substantially complementary to and configured to insert an implement hitch. A plurality of third holes in the plate extends linearly between the first hole and the cutout. The third holes are complementary to and positioned to selectively align with a pair of orifices that is positioned singly in an upper and a lower tongue of the implement hitch. A hitch pin is inserted through the orifices and the third hole to couple the implement hitch to the plate.

A spring pin bracket including a spring pin is connected to the coupling member. A shaft extending from the spring pin bracket includes shaft aperture thereon. A cylinder includes a plurality of selection apertures and a channel extending therethrough. The shaft is inserted through the rear end of the channel, and the cylinder is rotatable about the shaft. The spring pin is inserted through the shaft aperture and one of the plurality of selection apertures, and the spring pin is biased toward the cylinder. A plurality of tow balls are disposed on the front end of the cylinder. The spring pin can be pulled upward to permit rotation of the shaft and then released into a desired selection aperture corresponding to the desired tow ball.

A movable ball mount having a ball hole sized to mount a trailer ball is on the movable ball mount and the movable ball mount is movably mounted on the second end portion of the platform so that the movable ball mount can be moved between a retracted position and an extended position on the platform to adjust a distance between the first end of the platform the ball hole, with the extended position providing a greater distance between the ball hole and the first end portion than the distance between the ball hole and the first end portion in the retracted position. Also provided is a method of using the movable ball mount to provide slack to disconnect a trailer coupler from the trailer ball. Also provided is a method of using the movable ball mount to locate the trailer ball under a trailer coupler to connect a trailer coupler to the trailer ball.

A kingpin adapter is provided having an upper wall and a lower wall that are affixed to each other through side walls. The upper and lower walls have a kingpin aperture and a hitch ball aperture that is spaced from and parallel to the kingpin aperture. The kingpin aperture receives a kingpin and the adapter is affixed to the kingpin using pins that extend through the side walls and extend through a portion of the undercut in the kingpin. The upper wall has jack screws that extend through to contact a skid plate that is affixed to the kingpin. The jack screws affix optional adjustable fences that rotationally constrain the skid plate by contacting lateral edges of it.

A gooseneck ball extender is designed to mate with a center socket and receivers mounted to a towing vehicle and provide a gooseneck ball that is offset from the center socket. The extender has a cylindrical shaft with captured balls that can be moved between a retracted position and an extended position through a spring-loaded locking shaft that moves between an unlocked and locked position. The locking shaft is biased towards the locked position where the captured balls are extended. The extender has an outrigger portion that has puck locks. The puck locks are rotatable between a locked position and an unlocked position. As attached to the towing vehicle, the outrigger portion provides additional support to the gooseneck ball.
