Vehicle Lift Tow System
20190135060 · 2019-05-09 ·

A tow system tows a vehicle behind another vehicle, typically a motor coach or RV. A drive support unit is connected to the hitch insert and includes a fixed vertical shaft. A movable lift support moves a sliding support post between an up position and a down position parallel to a fixed vertical shaft. A vehicle coupler for selectively connects and disconnects the movable lift support assembly to the secondary vehicle while in the down position, and the vehicle coupler raises the first end of the secondary vehicle when moved to the up position for towing the secondary vehicle behind the primary vehicle. A pivot arm pivots about the sliding support post to further elevate a pintle, which receives a lunette ring therein. The lunette ring extends out of a tow bar, which is secured to the underside of the vehicle being towed.

Rope Shackle Attachment Thimble
20190126698 · 2019-05-02 ·

An attachment thimble is disclosed for attaching a rope shackle to a vehicle for towing, pulling, or other tasks. In one embodiment, the attachment thimble has spaced apart flanges and a mid-portion with a diameter less than the dimensions of the flanges. A through-bore is formed through the thimble from one flange to the other flange. The thimble is sized to be slid into a hitch receiver or disposed between mounting dogs of a D-ring mount. In one application, a rope shackle is formed into a loop by pressing the knot on one end of the shackle through the eyelet on the other end. The thimble is then disposed in the loop and the knot, eyelet, and thimble are slid into the hitch receiver of a vehicle until its through-bore aligns with holes in the receiver. A securement pin is then slid through the receiver and through the thimble to secure the rope shackle to the hitch receiver for use.

WINCH RIGGING LINK
20240253406 · 2024-08-01 ·

A winch rigging link has a body defining a cable retainer and a soft shackle retainer at opposite ends. The body has a length, a width less than the length, and a depth less than the width. Furthermore, the body defines opposing faces bounded by the length and width and spaced apart by the depth. The soft shackle retainer comprises a channel running widthwise across the soft shackle retainer an in between the faces. The channel defines a bearing surface having curvature in a lengthwise and widthwise plane. The cable retainer may be permanently attached to a winch cable and the soft shackle retainer attached to a soft shackle or the like when required for winch rigging. The configuration of the link maximises the bend radius of the soft shackle or the like retained by the soft shackle retainer, despite the relatively narrow profile of the body thereof.

ADJUSTABLE SAFETY CHAIN ATTACHMENT FOR TRAILERS
20190077204 · 2019-03-14 ·

A system for attaching a safety chain between a tow vehicle and a trailer, said system including: at least one, but preferably two safety chains permanently attached to the trailer, each safety chain having first and second ends which are interconnected by interlocking chain links, with the first end secured to a releasable attachment for attaching the first end to the tow vehicle; and a locking/unlocking mechanism on each safety chain that is permanently attached to the trailer, and that releasably locks its respective safety chain so that a desired working length of that that safety chain can be provided, where the working length is measured between the locking/unlocking mechanism and the first end. The system provided optimum connection between the tow vehicle and the trailer in the event of a primary decoupling.
