DEVICE FOR PREVENTING JACKKNIFING USING MAGNETIC DAMPING COUPLER OF TRACTOR
A device for preventing jackknifing using a magnetic damping coupler of a tractor is provided. The device uses a magnetic damping coupler to prevent jackknifing due to a loss of stability in yawing of a trailer during driving.
OSCILLATION DETECTION FOR VEHICLES AND TRAILERS
Systems and methods for detecting oscillation of a trailer towed by a vehicle include implementing one or more SPR systems to acquire SPR information associated with the vehicle and/or the trailer and estimating a degree of swerve of the vehicle and/or a degree of lateral oscillation of the trailer based on the acquired SPR information.

Connecting structure for articulated vehicle
A connecting structure for an articulated vehicle includes a first vehicle and a second vehicle connected via a coupler along a travelling direction of the articulated vehicle. The structure includes: a pair of anchors disposed at an end of the first vehicle so as to be on both sides of the coupler in a direction perpendicular to the travelling direction in plan view, the end facing the second vehicle; a pair of supports disposed at an end of the second vehicle so as to be on both sides of the coupler in the direction perpendicular to the travelling direction in plan view, the end facing the first vehicle; and a connecting cord having both ends connected to the anchors with an intermediate portion of the connecting cord being supported by the supports. The supports support the connecting cord in a manner allowing for movement of the connecting cord.
Weight distributing anti-sway trailer hitch
A weight distributing anti-sway trailer hitch has a pair of spring arms extending rearwardly from the head unit and a pair of hookup brackets for connecting a remote end of each spring arm to a trailer. The hookup brackets have a hookup plate and a hookup strap that sandwich a trailer frame therebetween to secure the bracket to the trailer, and further have a clamp that can be opened and closed to secure the remote end of the spring arm to the trailer frame during towing.
MITIGATION OF BOOSTER-INDUCED EFFECTS
An improved articulated heavy haul trailer combination comprises a trailing accessory vehicle such as a booster coupled to a main trailer by a coupling. The coupling includes a horizontal hinge, a vertical hinge that allows the trailing accessory vehicle to yaw in a horizontal plane, a spreader extending between the hinges and a hydraulic piston and cylinder. A turn sensor mounted on said combination detects yawing, and a controller reduces the piston and cylinder's downward biasing force on the coupling.
Trailer bracket for sway control towing system
An apparatus for reducing sway between a towing vehicle and a trailer is disclosed. The apparatus may comprise a bracket assembly that attaches to a tongue of a trailer. The bracket assembly may include a surface for supporting a spring arm extending from a weight distribution hitch installed on a tow vehicle. The bracket assembly may include a clamp that is able to apply a frictional force to thereby oppose movement of the spring arm. The clamping force applied by the clamp may be variable to ensure proper operation.
ARTICULATED VEHICLE ASSEMBLY AND ARTICULATION SYSTEM FOR USE THEREIN
An articulated vehicle assembly comprising a master vehicle having a master steering system and an onboard sensor arrangement configured to monitor at least said master steering system; a slave vehicle having a slave steering system and an onboard actuator arrangement configured to manipulate at least said slave steering system; an articulation system for articulating in a queue the master and the slave vehicles along a common longitudinal axis; and a processing unit configured to receive input signals from the onboard sensor arrangement and produce corresponding output signals to the onboard actuator arrangement to manipulate said slave steering system so as to maintain the master vehicle and the slave vehicle aligned along the common longitudinal axis, at least when the master vehicle performs a turn on a horizontal plane.
Traction saddle and traction pin
A traction saddle disposed on a tractor for connection with a traction pin of a trailer, is provided. The traction saddle includes a base, a gear set, and a damper. A gear carrier of the gear set fixes axial centers of the planetary gears of the gear set, the planetary gears are meshed with an inner ring gear of the gear set, and the inner ring gear is fixed to the base. The gear carrier is used for fixing the traction pin to rotate with the traction pin. The planetary gears are meshed with one end of a sun gear of the gear set to drive the sun gear to rotate, and the damper is connected to the other end of the sun gear to apply resistance to rotation of the sun gear. In addition, a traction pin, a tractor, a trailer, and a truck are also provided.
