Clearance-measuring break-away pintle hitch
A clearance-measuring break-away pintle hitch includes a mount having a first end for coupling to a vehicle. A pintle body has a portion thereof aligned with and coupled to a second end of the mount by a shear pin. Gauge members are pivotally coupled along a common axis of rotation to the pintle body. Each gauge member is rigid and has a unique length measured from the common axis of rotation. Each gauge member is independently rotatable about the common axis of rotation.
Trailer bracket for sway control towing system
An apparatus for reducing sway between a towing vehicle and a trailer is disclosed. The apparatus may comprise a bracket assembly that attaches to a tongue of a trailer. The bracket assembly may include a surface for supporting a spring arm extending from a weight distribution hitch installed on a tow vehicle. The bracket assembly may include a clamp that is able to apply a frictional force to thereby oppose movement of the spring arm. The clamping force applied by the clamp may be variable to ensure proper operation.
Vehicle air-conditioning device
Provided is a vehicle air-conditioning device in which a lever (7) for turning a damper is rotatably fitted and supported on a unit casing (2), wherein one of a support part (13) on the unit casing (2) side and a fitting part (8) on the lever side is provided with an elastically deformable fitting claw (27), while the other of the support part (13) and the fitting part (8) is provided with a fitting hole (24), into which the fitting claw (27) is fitted and engaged, and a bearing boss part (23) and a fitting shaft part (25), which are rotatably fitted together with a bearing clearance between them, are provided on the outer periphery of the fitting claw (27) and the fitting hole (24).
DUAL-ATTACHMENT SYSTEM FOR A SWAY CONTROL HITCH
A trailer hitch system for equalizing trailer loads and reducing trailer sway. The trailer hitch system may include spring bars that may be attached to a hitch head using a trunnion style connection. The spring bars may be attached to the trailer using rigid brackets that reduce swinging of the spring bars. The rigid brackets having a plurality of contact points may include an upward extending portion for attaching to the trailer tongue, and a lateral extending portion for receiving the spring bars thereupon. The rigid brackets may include a spacing member and an attachment member.
Weight distributing trailer hitch
A weight distributing trailer hitch and associated method are described. The weight distributing trailer hitch can include a hitch portion for interfacing with a hitch receiver associated with a vehicle. The weight distributing trailer hitch can also include a ball portion to facilitate coupling with a tongue of a trailer. In one embodiment, the weight distributing trailer hitch can further include a spring bar vertically pivotal relative to the hitch portion, and an adjustment mechanism actuatable to selectively adjust a tilt angle of the spring bar relative to the hitch portion to vary preload on the spring bar and adjustably distribute weight of the trailer relative to the vehicle. In another embodiment, the weight distributing trailer hitch can further include a spring bar for distributing weight of the trailer relative to the vehicle, and a load measurement device to determine a magnitude of a downward force on the hitch ball.
Recovery tow hitch assembly
There is provided herein a recovery tow hitch assembly which may be utilized in a standard configuration much like a conventional tow hitch assembly. However, during bogging, a locking mechanism may be unlocked so as to free a sliding member slidably retained within a sleeve. A compression member acts between the sliding member and the sleeve such that, when unlocked, the vehicle may be driven forwards free of trailer tow load until such time that the compression member acts on the extended sliding member to pull the trailer free. In embodiments, at the full extent of travel of the sliding member, the present tow hitch assembly initially jerks the trailer under the inertia of the vehicle and wherein the potential energy stored within the compression member further assist the freeing of the trailer wheels.
Monitoring of anti-sway bar chains of trailer hitch systems
Method and apparatus are disclosed for monitoring of anti-sway bar chains of trailer hitch systems. An example disclosed trailer hitch system includes a hitch including a hitch ball to receive a trailer, an anti-sway bar extending from the hitch, anti-sway chains to couple the anti-sway bar to the trailer, sensors, and a controller. The controller is to emit an alert responsive to detecting, via the sensors, that at least one of the anti-sway chains is decoupled from at least one of the anti-sway bar and the trailer.
