ADJUSTABLE TOW HOOK ASSEMBLIES AND VEHICLES INCLUDING SAME
A vehicle including a cross member and a tow hook assembly. The tow hook assembly is coupled to the cross member and includes a housing, a tow hook, and a shear pin. The housing includes an arcuate interior. The tow hook is moveable between an extended position and a retracted position. The tow hook includes a retaining block and a receiving member having a distal portion extending from the retaining block and a leading portion extending from the distal portion. The shear pin is positionable to extend through the housing. When the tow hook is in the extended position and a force exceeding a predetermined threshold is applied to the leading portion of the receiving member, the shear pin shears to permit the retaining block of the tow hook to move along the arcuate interior of the housing and position the tow hook into the retracted position.
TOW HOOK ASSEMBLIES AND VEHICLES INCLUDING SAME
A tow hook assembly including a crush box and a tow hook. The crush box includes a support section having a first end and an opposite second end, the tubular support section extending in a vehicle longitudinal direction, and a connector section provided at the first end of the tubular support section, the connector section including a face plate extending in a vehicle vertical direction perpendicular to the vehicle longitudinal direction, and an upper plate extending from an upper end of the face plate in the vehicle longitudinal direction. The tow hook includes a body having a first portion provided on an upper surface of the upper plate and extending parallel to the upper plate, and an attachment member extending at an oblique angle from the first portion.
Motor vehicle
A motor vehicle is provided having a towing lug at a front end of the motor vehicle. The towing lug is directly accessible. A longitudinal axis of the towing lug is arranged substantially vertical or downward at an angle, such that a free end of the towing lug, at which a lug section of the towing lug is formed, points downward in the direction of a roadway.
UNIDIRECTIONAL SLIDING TOW EYE SYSTEM
A motor vehicle frame includes a tow eye receiver bracket receiving recess. A mechanical fastener extends into the tow eye receiver bracket receiving recess. A tow eye receiver bracket is arranged in the tow eye receiver bracket receiving recess. The tow eye receiver bracket includes a base member, a first side member extending outwardly from the base member and a second side member extending outwardly from the base member forming a substantially C-shaped cross-section. At least one of the first and second side members and the base member includes a decoupling feature engageable with the mechanical fastener. The decoupling feature prevents movement of the tow eye receiver bracket outwardly of the frame member and enables movement of the tow eye receiver bracket into the frame member.
Tubular back beam assembly for vehicle and method of manufacturing the same
A tubular back beam assembly may include a plurality of main members, each of which is formed by cold rolling and hot stamping and the plurality of main members may be coupled to form a vertically stacked structure with flat portions coupled in a surface contact fashion, or the tubular back beam assembly may include a main member and at least one support member that are directly coupled to form a vertically stacked structure.
Tow-hook assembly
A tow-hook assembly may include a vehicle frame and a bumper arranged thereon, and a tow-hook assembly configured to attach to the vehicle bumper and provide a tow-hook. The assembly may include a bracket defining an opening configured to receive the tow-hook, and a brace attached to a backside of the bracket and including a projection extending through the opening to the opposite side of the bracket.
Bumper with selectively attachable light bars
Provided in this disclosure is a vehicle bumper having a mounting plate extending between first end and second ends and a first mounting flange formed integrally with the first end of the mounting plate. A second mounting flange is formed integrally with the second end of the mounting plate. A first light bar and a second light bar are provided. A first mating mounting flange is formed integrally with the first light bar, and a second mating mounting flange formed integrally with the second light bar. The mounting plate has a planar mounting surface. The first mating mounting flange is configured for detachable engagement with the first mounting flange. The second mating mounting flange is configured for detachable engagement with the second mounting flange.
Vehicle spare tire and towing system
A vehicle includes a frame, load floor, subfloor, spare tire, jack, and a tow-eye. The frame defines a trunk. The load floor and the subfloor are each secured to the frame and disposed within the trunk. The load floor and the subfloor define a spare tire receptacle therebetween. The spare tire and the jack each define orifices and are disposed within the receptacle. The tow-eye has a fastening portion extending therefrom. The fastening portion extends through the orifices and engages the subfloor to secure the spare tire and jack to the subfloor.
Deployable tow hook assembly and method
A tow hook assembly includes a bracket and a tow loop carried on the bracket. The bracket includes a guide track. The tow loop is displaceable along the guide track between a retracted position and a deployed position. A method of deploying a tow loop is also disclosed.
Tow-hook assembly
A retractable tow-hook assembly may include a vehicle frame and a bumper arranged thereon, a cable attached to the vehicle frame, and a tow-hook arranged at an end of the cable and stored within the bumper during non-use and removed from the bumper and extendable via the cable during use.
