Tow Hitch Cover Device
20240042817 · 2024-02-08 ·

The present invention relates to a tow hitch cover device. The device has a cover that can be placed over the ball of a tow hitch and resembles a face. The cover is then enclosed by both halves of a helmet assembly. The helmet assembly further attaches to the cover via fasteners. As a result, the cover and helmet assembly combine to form the image of a football player wearing a helmet.

TOOLING AND METHOD FOR GALVANIZING KINGPIN COUPLER

A king pin coupler assembly of a fifth wheel coupling. A coupler plate has a king pin aperture therein. A king pin is positioned to extend axially through the king pin aperture of the coupler plate. The king pin has a first portion with a neck for engaging a fifth wheel of the fifth wheel coupling, the first portion extending to a first side of the coupler plate. The king pin has a second portion on a second side of the coupler plate and welded to the coupler plate. A shielding apparatus is secured to one or both of the king pin and the coupler plate. The shielding apparatus includes a cover sealed to the first side of the coupler plate. The cover extends over the first portion of the king pin to shield the first portion of the king pin during liquid immersion of the king pin coupler assembly.

Cushioned protection device

A cushioned protection device may protect a tailgate of a tow vehicle from damage from a trailer. The cushioned protection device may be made from a polyethylene foam block having an internal cavity sized to fit snugly around a top portion of a crank jack attached to the trailer.

Protective sealing plug system for towing hitch receivers with self lubricating storage container
10406875 · 2019-09-10 ·

A protective sealing plug system for towing hitch receivers is provided having a main body for fittingly engaging within the cavity of a towing hitch receiver. The body is formed of a resilient or flexible material that retain oils or other corrosion inhibiting substances and hold them in place against the inside of the female receiver tube. A mechanism for urging the flexible material to compress slightly and, in the process, expand slightly allows the main body to be engaged within the hitch receiver in a manner that both prevents access by outside elements, but also prevents egress of the main body from the hitch receiver until desired by the user. When installed in the female hitch receiver, the expansion of the resilient body will seal the female receiver tube and prevent the ingress of water, dirt or other damaging elements. Retraction of the resilient body will cause the flexible body to retract, allowing removal from the receiver hitch.

A protective sealing plug system for towing hitch receivers is provided having a main body for fittingly engaging within the cavity of a towing hitch receiver. The body is formed of a series of aligned segments each formed of a resilient or flexible material that retain oils or other corrosion inhibiting substances and hold them in place against the inside of the female receiver tube. A mechanism for urging the flexible material to compress slightly and, in the process, each segment expands slightly to allow engagement within the hitch receiver in a manner that both prevents access by outside elements, but also prevents egress of the main body from the hitch receiver until desired by the user. When installed in the female hitch receiver, the expansion of the resilient body will seal the female receiver tube and prevent the ingress of water, dirt or other damaging elements. Retraction of the resilient body will cause the flexible body to retract, allowing removal from the receiver hitch.

Trailer jack tailgate protector

A trailer jack protection arrangement that includes a cushioned plastic or rubber surface in the event of contact between a trailer jack and a portion of the vehicle, such as a tailgate. The arrangement is attached to the trailer jack via the jack stem and projects above the jack handle or jack top cylinder, depending on the type of jack. The arrangement utilizes an embedded metal stamping to provide a mounting surface and extra stability for the plastic or rubber impact surfaces. The arrangement also utilizes a Teflon washer underneath it for lubricity and stability when it also turns as the jack handle turns to move the trailer up or down, on a top wind jack. The alternative design provides protection for a side wind jack using an adapter, which can have several different forms to accommodate all types of trailer jacks. The design requires installation and prevents easy removal of the invention so it is not lost or stolen.

HITCH ASSEMBLY
20190255897 · 2019-08-22 · ·

A hitch assembly comprising a receiver having an opening for receiving a hitch member, an anti-rattle member secured with respect to the receiver, and a hitch member comprising a hitch body configured to be received by the receiver, and an engagement portion, wherein when the hitch body is received by the receiver, the engagement portion bears against the anti-rattle member causing at least a portion of the anti-rattle member to resiliently deform in a manner that a reaction force from the resilient deformation causes the hitch body to bear against the receiver.

Dust cap assembly and dust cap device for this assembly

A dust cap assembly including a semi-trailer (2) and a towing vehicle (3). The dust cap assembly is for closing a king pin (21) which has been hollowed out with a borehole (22) for automatic fifth-wheel coupling. A dust cap device (1) is arranged in contact with the underside (20) of the semi-trailer (2) and such that it can rotate about the king pin (21). In order to mount the dust cap device (11) such that it can rotate about the king pin (21), a circular ring-shaped bearing disc (25) having a circular bearing seat (26) is provided, which is secured coaxially to the king pin (21) on the underside (20) of the semi-trailer (2). The circular bearing seat (26) on the circular ring-shaped bearing disc (25) has a first sliding bearing edge (261) on the inner circular opening and a second sliding bearing edge (262) on the outer rim, in which the dust cap device (1) engages. Also, a dust cap device for this assembly.

Gladhand electrical connectivity towing system
10377198 · 2019-08-13 ·

A gladhand electrical connectivity towing system couples electrical wiring from a towing vehicle to a towed vehicle through a quick and easy gladhand coupling operation between a pigtail and a vehicle mount. The system provides a pigtail that detachably couples to a vehicle mount through a tool-free, 20-25 rotation, gladhand-type connection between male and female gladhand couplers. Two aligning gladhand couplers and one stabilizing gladhand coupler mate. The pigtail and vehicle mount include electrical interfaces that align and engage to conduct electricity from the towing vehicle to the towed vehicle. The electrical interfaces have lips and multiple apertures, with the lips forming a sealed interface to protect against moisture and debris. Multiple first conduction members are fitted into apertures in the electrical interfaces to conduct electricity from the power source of the towing vehicle to the towed vehicle.
