TRAILER DOLLY APPARATUS
A load-bearing trailer dolly which connects a tongue-type boat, utility or other trailer to a towing tandem trailer and bears weight from the trailer during towing. The trailer dolly is characterized by an axle mounted on a pair of wheels. A dolly frame height-adjustable trailer hitch that receives a primary or a secondary trailer. The adjustable hitch on the trailer dolly allows horizontal leveling. A shock-absorbing spring is fitted between the axle mount and the dolly frame for cushioning the dolly frame on the axle mount as the trailer is towed behind the towing tandem trailer.
Tiltable trailer comprising mechanical actuation means and high-position locking means
A tiltable trailer that can assume a high, or road, position, and a low loading position in which the trailer is tilted with respect to the ground. The trailer includes wheels; a chassis mounted on an axle that pivots with respect to the wheels; an actuator for actuating the pivoting of the axle relative to the wheels to vary the position of the chassis with respect to the ground, the actuator including a flexible element secured to the axle and a tensioner attached to the chassis for adjusting tension of the flexible element; and a lock for locking the trailer in the high position, which is separate from the actuator. The lock includes a sliding locking bar, a first end of which is secured to the axle and a second end of which cooperates with a locking mechanism, mounted on the chassis, when the trailer is in the high position.
Automatic car trailer hitching and unhitching system
An automated system is provided for aligning a vehicle tow ball with a tow cup of a trailer. The vehicle has a controller connected to at least some of the vehicle steering, transmission and braking systems to enable the controller automatically to steer and/or move and/or brake the vehicle. Sensors at the rear of the vehicle detect the presence of an object within a region behind the vehicle. The sensors are connected to the controller to utilize the data from the sensors to identify the tow cup of a trailer located within the region behind the vehicle, and to control the reversing of the vehicle in order to bring the tow ball into alignment beneath the identified tow cup so as to facilitate coupling of the tow cup onto the tow ball.
Trailer stabilizer and restraint
A repositionable trailer stabilizer for supporting at least a portion of a weight of a parked semi-trailer.
Portable trailer stand
The present application relates to a transport for transporting a trailer stand. The transport for a trailer stand may be a portable trailer stand and may comprise one or more auxiliary trailer stands. The portable trailer stand may include a pedestal having a top for engaging and supporting the underside of the nose portion of a trailer, a bottom for engaging the ground, wheel means mounted on the pedestal for moving the stand along the ground to and from a position under the nose portion of a trailer, means for adjusting the height of said pedestal, and a member for engaging and securing the auxiliary trailer stand to the portable trailer stand.
Jack assembly
A jack assembly for a towed vehicle is provided. The jack assembly includes an outer tube, an inner tube supported for telescopic movement within the outer tube, a jack screw operatively engaging a jack nut within the inner tube, and a mounting assembly attached to the outer tube for attaching the jack assembly to the towed vehicle. A cover may be positioned over a portion of the outer tube attached to the mounting assembly and supported by the mounting assembly. An L-shaped release pin is utilized and accommodated by the cover. The mounting assembly may be adjustable in height along the outer tube. A reservoir may be provided to facilitate protection of the jack screw by ensuring its lubrication, and a foot having a convex bottom surface may be utilized.
Body prop assembly
A body prop assembly for supporting portions of a tilting trailer assembly. Said body prop assembly comprising a body prop, a hinge assembly, two sidetracks. Said body prop assembly configured to attach to said tilting trailer assembly between tilting portions and a trailer platform. Said tilting portions selectively rotate with respect to said trailer platform on a tilting hinge. Said tilting hinge defines a tilting axis of said tilting trailer assembly. Said body prop is configured to selectively hold a portion of said tilting portions at an incline. Lower guides are configured to slide through portions of said two sidetracks in order to adjust a lower portion of said body prop assembly. Said body prop comprises an upper portion, a side portions and said lower guides. Said upper portion is substantially parallel with said lower guides.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR SHIFTING TRAILERS
The disclosure is directed at an apparatus and method for shifting or moving trailers. In one aspect, the apparatus is a converter dolly with at least one set of powered wheels, which can be equipped with a remote control steering device. In another aspect, the apparatus is a remotely controlled terminal tractor configured to be coupled to a trailer. In some aspects, the remote control of the apparatus is directed by an autonomous algorithm resident remotely or on the apparatus itself. In another aspect, a frame of an apparatus for towing a trailer includes an articulated frame with a first frame counterpart pivotably connected to a second frame counterpart.
Portable trailer stabilizers
A portable trailer stabilizer, comprising: (i) a support surface engagement element configured to selectively engage a support surface; (ii) a trailer engagement element configured to selectively engage a forward end portion of a trailer; (iii) a hydraulic cylinder operatively connected between the support surface engagement element and the trailer engagement element, the hydraulic cylinder configured to extend the trailer engagement element relative to the support surface engagement element; (iv) an on-board, self-contained energy source comprising a hydraulic accumulator operatively coupled to the hydraulic cylinder; (v) an isolation valve fluidically interposing the hydraulic cylinder and the hydraulic accumulator; (vi) a positioning element engagement element configured to selectively couple with a trailer stabilizer positioning element of a tractor; and (vii) a valve operator mechanism configured to (a) open the isolation valve when the when the positioning element engagement element is coupled to the trailer stabilizer positioning element of the tractor, and (b) shut the isolation valve when the positioning element engagement element is uncoupled from the trailer stabilizer positioning element of the tractor, where the hydraulic cylinder, the hydraulic accumulator, and the isolation valve are operatively connected in a closed hydraulic system containing a hydraulic fluid.
TRAILER SUPPORT SAFETY STAND
A trailer support safety stand may include a top plate, a base pad, a post assembly including first and second posts, and a height adjustment mechanism including a handle, a locking device, and a linkage providing a pivot point between the handle and locking device. The first post may include first opening(s) and the second post may include a second opening. The first and second posts may telescope within each other such that the first and second opening(s) can align. The height adjustment mechanism may adjust a height of the post assembly such that when the handle is rotated around the pivot point and toward the post assembly, the locking device may be inserted through the aligned first and second openings, and when the handle is rotated around the pivot point and away from the post assembly, the locking device may be removed from the aligned first and second openings.
