JACKSTAND FOR AUTOMATED TRAILER LOADING DOCK
Automated jackstand systems and methods deploy a jackstand to support a front end of a trailer parked at an automated loading dock. The jackstand prevents collapse of the trailer's landing gear and prevents upending of the trailer during loading and unloading. Advantageously, by deploying the jackstand automatically, presence of personnel in the yard where tractors and trailers are moving is not required.
TRAILER HITCH JACK COVER AND SECURING DEVICE
A trailer hitch jack cover includes a housing with a lower open end and configured to be securely disposed over a trailer hitch jack to enclose an operative upper portion of a hitch jack including an adjustment mechanism, a cushion member secured to the housing and covering to an upper surface of the housing, and a fastening mechanism which secures the housing to the hitch jack. The housing is formed of rigid material and includes a side wall which defines an open space therein and an upper member which is fixed to and closes an upper end of the side wall. The cushion member covers an upper surface of the housing upper member.
Trailer Dolly Apparatus
A load-bearing trailer dolly which connects a tongue-type boat, utility or other trailer to a towing tandem trailer and bears weight from the trailer during towing. In a preferred embodiment, the trailer dolly is characterized by an axle mounted on a pair of wheels. A dolly frame height-adjustable trailer hitch centered coaxial above the axle axis and midway point framed dolly plate mount by operation of an adjustable sleeve reducer fastened by pinning and lock. Includes dual connecting adjustable height tongues for attachment to rear end trailer hitches on the tandem towing trailer at which a pair of hitch fasteners for engaging the trailer dolly tongues are attached to the rear of the tandem trailer. The adjustable tongue hitches on trailer dolly will give ability to horizontal level tandem dolly. A shock-absorbing spring is fitted between the axle mount and the dolly frame for cushioning the dolly frame on the axle mount as the trailer is towed behind the towing tandem trailer. In the industry of dollies, the car dolly has no shock-absorbing function, just square axle with hubs for wheels, axle is attached to car dolly frame. There is an option with shock-absorbing mechanism or s non shock-absorbing option.
Method for monitoring the position of a jockey wheel of a trailer, camera system for monitoring the position of a jockey wheel of a trailer, and motor vehicle comprising a camera system
The example embodiment(s) relates to a method for monitoring the position of a jockey wheel of a trailer, including sensing a region lying behind a motor vehicle by means of a camera, processing the sensed image data by means of an evaluation unit and identifying the jockey wheel, and determining the position of the jockey wheel, comparing the sensed position of the jockey wheel with a secured position of the jockey wheel, and outputting a warning signal if the sensed position of the jockey wheel deviates from the secured position. The example embodiment(s) further relates to a camera system and to a motor vehicle including a camera system according to the example embodiment(s).
Vehicle hitch assembly having floating hitch receiver and method
A vehicle hitch assembly is provided that includes an angled trailer tow bar configured to be supported at the rear of a vehicle, a hitch receiver movably coupled to the tow bar such that the receiver may move on the tow bar, and a locking mechanism for locking the receiver in a fixed position on the tow bar.
Utility cart with trailer hitch assembly
A utility cart for maneuvering trailers and trailer accessories includes a base frame member, caster wheels mounted on an underside of the base frame member, a height adjustable hitch assembly, and a pair of handles extending upwardly from the base frame member. The hitch assembly is mounted to the central support members, and includes a vertical post extending upwardly from the support members and a telescoping frame member with a vertical sleeve that mates telescopically with the vertical post. The telescoping frame member includes a height adjustment mechanism that is operated by a hand crank, so that a user can turn the hand crank to raise or lower the height of the telescoping frame member. The utility cart may attach to trailers, trailer hitch accessories, or may be used as a docking station for the recreational vehicle loading and carrying apparatus set forth in U.S. Pat. No. 9,670,013.
JACK ASSEMBLY
A jack assembly is shown and describe. The jack assembly may include a first tube having first and second end portions and a central portion between the first and second end portions, and a second tube positioned within the first tube and movable with respect to the first tube. The jack assembly may also include an expanded portion on the first tube, the expanded portion having a larger inner diameter than an inner diameter of the central portion, and a bushing attached to the expanded portion, where the bushing generally prevents contact between the first and second tubes.
Trailer tow assist apparatus and method
A trailer tow assist apparatus comprises a screw and nut drive with a housing, an actuation member coupled to a screw, a wheel assembly, a rigid member upstanding on said wheel assembly and a compressible and resilient member mounted within the housing in a contact with rigid member. A mounting member is provided for attaching the housing to the trailer frame or tow bar. The housing and the mounting member can be adapted with apertures for height adjustment purposes.
TOW ASSIST SYSTEM
Systems are provided for assisting in towing a trailer by a lead vehicle. A wheeled tow assist unit couples between the lead vehicle and the trailer. A drive unit onboard the tow assist unit drives the wheels in response to a force between the trailer and the tow assist unit. The tow assist unit bears at least a portion of the force required to tow the trailer.
Stabilizing accessory system for a trailer frame
A system and methods for stabilizing a towed trailer include a stabilizing accessory system that both stabilizes the trailer and stows upon a frame of the trailer for transport. The system includes a wheel chock that detachably attaches to a stabilizing block. The stabilizing block features an elevated wheel dock configured to receive a jack wheel of the trailer, a post recess configured to receive a square or round jack post of the trailer, and a plate recess configured to receive a plate jack stand of the trailer. The stabilizing block may be secured to a frame of the trailer via a securement strap or via a switchable magnet embedded within the block. The wheel chock is configured to immobilize a trailer tire and may secure to the frame via its attachment to the stabilizing block, supplemented by a magnet embedded in its bottom surface. Other embodiments are disclosed.
