A wheelchair suspension includes a frame, a drive assembly pivot arm, a drive assembly, a front caster pivot arm, a front caster, and a spring and shock absorbing assembly. The drive assembly pivot arm is pivotally connected to the frame. The drive assembly includes a drive wheel and is mounted to the drive assembly pivot arm. The front caster pivot arm is pivotally mounted to the frame and coupled to the drive assembly pivot arm. The front caster is coupled to the at least one front caster pivot arm. The spring and shock absorbing assembly is pivotally connected to the drive assembly pivot arm at a first pivotal connection and pivotally connected to the front caster pivot arm at a second pivotal connection. The first and second pivotal connections are positioned such that a majority of the force applied by the spring and shock absorbing assembly is applied to the drive wheel when the suspension is on a flat, horizontal support surface.

Steered wheel support structure of vehicle

A steered wheel support structure of a vehicle, includes a knuckle member which supports an axle of a steered wheel and a support member which is coupled to a vehicle body and supports the knuckle member from a first side in a vehicle width direction in such a manner that the knuckle member is angularly displaceable around a steering axis line, the knuckle member includes: an axle support section which supports the axle; and two supported sections disposed on both sides in the upward and downward direction, of at least a portion of the axle support section, the two supported sections facing each other and being apart from each other in the upward and downward direction, and the two supported sections are supported by the support member in such a manner that the two supported sections are angularly displaceable around the steering axis line relative to the support member.

STEERABLE SUSPENSION SYSTEM
20190270356 · 2019-09-05 ·

A steerable suspension system for a vehicle, especially useful in a self-propelled vehicle that can include a worker-platform and optionally include pick-up, transport, and delivery apparatus for produce bins. The steerable suspension system includes independent pairs of parallel arms, each pair coupled to a single steerable drive-wheel, serving as both a suspension and as a shock absorber, with the parallel-acting pair of arms maintaining the steering-leg in its substantially vertical position relative to a ground surface. This steerable suspension system aids the steerable movement and suspension of the vehicle, while increasing safety and maneuverability, and helps to reduce the number of workers required to operate the vehicle.

VEHICLE WITH INDEPENDENTLY ADJUSTABLE SUSPENSION

A vehicle may include a frame structure, four wheels, and four independent suspension systems coupled to the frame structure and configured to support the wheels relative to the frame structure. Each suspension system may include a suspension arm movably coupling a respective wheel to the frame structure, a torsion bar coupled to the suspension arm and imparting a spring force on the suspension arm, a preload arm coupled to the torsion bar, and a preload adjustment motor coupled to the preload arm and configured to rotate the torsion bar to adjust a preload on the torsion bar.

MOUNTING ASSEMBLY FOR A SUSPENSION AND WHEEL ASSEMBLY OF A VEHICLE, AND VEHICLE INCLUDING SAME
20190225042 · 2019-07-25 ·

A mounting assembly for a suspension and wheel assembly of a vehicle can include a pair of frame members, a final drive assembly, and a pair of suspension brackets. The frame members can be spaced apart from each other in a transverse direction of the vehicle and can extend upwardly along a vertical direction of the vehicle. The final drive assembly can extend between the frame members. Each of the suspension brackets can connect a respective suspension member to a respective one of the frame members. The suspension brackets can be connected to the frame members and to the final drive assembly such that a lateral load input to one of the suspension brackets is transferred to a different one of the suspension brackets through the final drive housing, and then to the respective one of the frame members to which the different one of the suspension brackets is connected.

MOBILE ROBOT MOTION CONTROL METHOD AND MOBILE ROBOT
