FIRE RETARDANT DARKENING SCREEN
A fire retardant darkening screen for use in greenhouses is provided, the screen including a top fabric and a bottom fabric. The top fabric includes halogen-containing polymeric strips laminated with a light-reflective film or foil. The bottom fabric includes polyolefin tapes, preferably high density polyethylene tapes, the polyolefin tapes including a synergistic fire resistance composition.
DAYLIGHT REDIRECTING WINDOW FILM EMPLOYING EMBEDDED MICROSTRUCTURES
A daylight redirecting window film having a layered structure with a total thickness of less than one millimeter and having a first optically transmissive film, a second optically transmissive film approximately coextensive with the first optically transmissive film, an intermediate layer of a relatively soft optically transmissive material disposed between the first and second optically transmissive films, a parallel array of linear three-dimensional structures formed in a space between the first and second optically transmissive films, a layer of an optically transmissive adhesive coating a surface of the first optically transmissive film, and a two-dimensional pattern of light scattering surface microstructures formed in an outer surface of the second optically transmissive film. The parallel array of linear three-dimensional structures defines a parallel array of linear channels, and each of the linear three-dimensional structures has a total internal reflection wall extending transversely through a portion of the layered structure.
MULTILAYER PLASTIC FILM FOR AGRICULTURAL USE
The present invention relates to the technical field of agricultural films and in particular refers to a multilayer plastic film for agricultural applications comprising light-emission shifting properties. Furthermore, the present invention relates to the use of the multilayer plastic film for, in particular perennial, agricultural applications.
OPENABLE VINYL FIXING DEVICE AND VINYL GREENHOUSE INCLUDING SAME
The present invention relates to an openable vinyl fixing device and a vinyl greenhouse. The openable vinyl fixing device enables easy opening and closing of an openable window formed on a roof. In contrast with the conventional fixed idea that when a vinyl opening operator (opener) is positioned at the lowermost end of vinyl, a vinyl supporting pipe does not completely unwind vinyl of a vinyl window, but slightly winds the vinyl, and the vinyl supporting pipe is positioned at the outer portion of the vinyl window, the present invention enables the vinyl to be completely unwound by rotating the vinyl supporting pipe a little bit more when closing the vinyl window, wherein the vinyl supporting pipe is positioned between an arc frame and the vinyl of the vinyl window to thereby form a space, and the vinyl supporting pipe is fixed in the space by means of the openable vinyl fixing device.
METHOD OF AND BUILDING FOR GROWING PLANTS
A method of growing plants comprising determining preferential light wavelengths for promoting growth of a plant. The method further comprises constructing one or more light filtering panels arranged to filter natural sunlight or artificial light to produce filtered light comprising the preferential wavelengths. In addition, the method comprises locating one or more plants in a structure constructed at least in part from one or more of the panels. The method also comprises illuminating the structure from outside with natural sunlight or artificial light to pass through the one or more panels and produce the filtered light wherein the filtered light is directed to radiate the plants.
Ultraviolet Radiation Blocking Sheet
An ultraviolet radiation blocking sheet for blocking ultraviolet radiation while allowing passage of visible light includes a film that is substantially transparent to light that has a wavelength of 495 to 570 nanometers. The film also is substantially absorbent of light that has a wavelength shorter than 495 nanometers. The film is configured to position between a light source and an object to be protected from ultraviolet radiation. The film absorbs the ultraviolet radiation emitted from the light source while allowing light that has a wavelength of 495 to 570 nanometers to pass through the film to illuminate the object.
Greenhouse screen
A greenhouse screen comprising strips of film material that are interconnected by a yarn system of transverse threads and longitudinal threads by means of knitting, warp-knitting or weaving process to form a continuous product is disclosed. At least some of the strips comprise a film material in the form of a single- or multilayer polyester film wherein the film contains at least 1.0 wt.-% SiO.sub.2 and a maximum of 2.5 wt.-% SiO.sub.2, and has a spreading factor of at least 2 and not more than 8. The greenhouse screen as disclosed herein has a reduced flammability and light scattering properties particularly suited for greenhouse applications.
PORTABLE AND MODULAR COVER
A cover, and more particularly, a portable modular cover that may be assembled outdoors to keep insects and/or the elements from contacting food or other items spread out across small or large areas, and that may also be disassembled for ease of storage and transport, is disclosed. The portable modular cover provides solutions for protecting such food or other items through separate embodiments that are lightweight, durable, easy to assemble, and easy to travel with for virtually any occasion. When disassembled, the portable modular cover can easily fit within any suitable carrying case for ease of transport. Assembling the components together can be done on the fly at any outdoor event without requiring extraneous tools such as wrenches or screwdrivers. Opening and closing the portable modular cover can be done quickly and with ease to minimize exposure of food or other contents when accessing. Other optional accessories such as internal light fixtures can accommodate its use at evening outdoor events.
DARKENING SCREEN
The darkening screen comprises two fabrics, namely a first fabric (10) which comprises in machining direction first strips of film material and first threads (2) in between the first strips, and a second fabric (11) which comprises in machining direction second strips of film material and second threads (6) in between the second strips. The first (2) and the second threads (6) of the first (10) and the second fabric (11) have water transporting capacity. In order to obtain improved moisture transporting properties whilst maintaining a low hemispherical light transmission the first threads (2) are aligned with said second threads (6) and are situated, in a direction perpendicular to said first (10) and second fabric (11), opposite to said second threads (6) to form pairs of first and second threads. In a number of these pairs the first thread (2) is connected at different locations by cross-connections (16) to the second thread (6), more particularly by means of a first yarn (4) of the first fabric which extends in the cross-machining direction, to thereby fix the first fabric (10) to the second fabric (11). The cross-connections (16) preferably hold the first threads (2) at least at the location of the cross-connections (16) against the second threads (6).
AGRICULTURAL MULCH FILM
An agricultural mulch film including two or more layers with different capacities of light absorption and being separable from each other, e.g. by degrading at different speeds and/or having different times of degradation.
