Animal Wellness Monitoring Systems and Methods
An animal management system for monitoring a plurality of animals over time includes a data management subsystem and a data acquisition subsystem, which includes RF asset tags. The data acquisition acquires data concerning the animals and efficiently provides it to aspects of the system for processing. The data may also include information from an environment data acquisition subsystem. The data management subsystem determines current wellness scores for each animal of a group of animals and a period wellness score for each animal over a larger period of time. Alerts may be sent went data shows an animal outside of threshold values. Other embodiments are presented.
Methods for estimating birthing data for an animal
Methods are provided for estimation of birthing data (such as birthing date and birthing weight) by consideration of a mother animal's weight over an expected birthing period. The method includes: measuring or providing the weight of the mother animal at intervals over an expected birthing period to provide a series of dated weight records, estimating the underlying weight of the mother animal over the expected birthing period from the series of dated weight records, and identifying a significant weight drop of the mother animal by reference to the estimated underlying weight, wherein the estimated birthing date is on or before the date of the significant weight drop. The methods are particularly useful in animals associated with production, such as cattle.
Method for tagging and tracking wildlife
A method for tagging and tracking animals utilizes a plurality of user accounts and a plurality of species profiles. A user account of the plurality of user accounts is utilized to enter tag information from a tag of a plurality of tracking tags. More specifically, the tag is attached to a specific animal. When the tag information is entered, a relevant profile from the plurality of species profiles is selected. The relevant profile has information related to the specific animal. Next, the user completes a plurality of fields related to the specific animal which is saved into the relevant profile. Simultaneously, a list of geographical information is completed and saved into the relevant profile. As a result, the relevant profile is saved with the latest information of the specific animal. When required, a premium account of the plurality of user accounts is used to view the relevant profile.
Underwater container cooling via external heat exchanger
In one example, a shell includes walls that collectively define an interior space of the shell, the interior space sized and configured to receive heat generating equipment. An internal heat exchanger disposed within the interior space is arranged for thermal communication with heat generating equipment when heat generating equipment is located in the interior space. Additionally, an external heat exchanger is located outside of the shell and arranged for fluid communication with the internal heat exchanger. Finally, a prime mover is provided that is in fluid communication with the internal heat exchanger and the external heat exchanger, and the prime mover is operable to circulate a flow of coolant through the internal heat exchanger and the external heat exchanger.
Multiscopic whitetail scoring game camera systems and methods
A game scoring camera system is disclosed for capturing images of game animals for the purpose of scoring the antlers using an accepted scoring method. One or more cameras are used in a multiscopic arrangement for capturing two-dimensional (2-D) images which are then converted to three-dimensional (3-D) data models, the resulting 3-D data models being used for determining measurements of various antler structures for calculating a score for the set of antlers captured in the images, the score being based on existing antler scoring systems. Some embodiments include one or more cameras, each being mounted on an unmanned aerial vehicle or drone, for capturing images during an aerial survey of game animals located within a particular area. Other embodiments include at least two cameras mounted in a stationary configuration for capturing images of game animals located within a particular area.
METHOD FOR OBTAINING INFORMATION ABOUT A FARM ANIMAL
The invention relates to a method for obtaining information about a farm animal, wherein a device (a) is attached to the head region of an animal, said device containing at least one acceleration sensor by means of which recurring acceleration data is measured, wherein the acceleration data is evaluated using automatic data processing means, and, as an outcome of the evaluation, is indicative of the activities and/or conditions of the animal. The acquired acceleration data is evaluated in order to detect the swallowing processes carried out by the animal.
PET TOILET AND METHOD FOR IDENTIFYING PET DEVICE
A pet toilet that identifies a pet device by using the pet device worn by a pet includes an electromagnetic signal receiver that receives a first electromagnetic signal including pet device information from a plurality of pet devices, a connection unit that is connected to at least one of the plurality of pet devices based on the strength of the received first electromagnetic signal, an electromagnetic signal transmitter that transmits a second electromagnetic signal to the at least one pet device, and an identification unit that identifies a specific pet device worn by a specific pet from the pet device information based on the strength of the second electromagnetic signal received by the at least one pet device from the at least one pet device.
SYSTEMS AND COMPUTERIZED METHODS FOR LIVESTOCK MANAGEMENT
A method includes receiving, by a client application executing on a mobile computing device, livestock information, the livestock information including one or more of information about a livestock facility or information about items of livestock at the livestock facility. The method also includes capturing, by the client application, images of the items of livestock at the livestock facility. Further, the method includes determining an identification of one of the items of livestock based at least partially on an analysis of one or more of the images that were captured. The method includes transmitting, by the client application, the livestock information, the images to an insurance server system, and the identification.
Device for locating objects in an animal house
An animal surveillance device for detecting stationary objects in a poultry house comprises a noncontact scanner adapted to emit electromagnetic radiation in a scanner and to receive a reflection of the electromagnetic radiation and an electronic evaluation unit which is in signal communication with the scanner and adapted to evaluate the signals received from the scanner. The scanner includes at least one scanner unit comprising a transmitter for transmitting an electromagnetic scanning beam in a predetermined direction and a receiver for receiving a reflection of the scanning beam from the predetermined direction. The evaluation unit is configured to calculate a transit time signal from the reception of a reflected signal emitted from the scanner unit and from the transit time of the signal and to produce a transit time profile for the scanner unit from the transit time signal received over a period.
Feed intake system
A feed intake system comprising one or more feeding stations comprising a trough with an animal feeding access, a support frame surrounding the trough, a base frame supporting the trough, a scale unit between the base frame and the support frame enabling the scale unit to weigh the contents of the trough, a station frame with an animal feeding access, a sensor assembly including a sensor or antenna located near the station frame animal feeding access, a control panel and a timestamp generator operationally associated with the sensor assembly and the scale unit, a CPU/processing computer operationally associated with the control panel, one or more animals, each having a RFID tag which transmits RFID signal and tag data, wherein the weight of the feed in the trough is collected and stored in a log file and wherein RFID signal and tag data are collected and stored in a log file.
