Wheel axle for a combine harvester
11110771 · 2021-09-07 · ·

There is described a wheel axle for an agricultural vehicle such as a combine harvester. The wheel axle has at least one wheel suspension (32a) arranged to maintain a wheel axle parallel to the supporting surface, through use of a linkage arrangement (36, 38, 40) which is pivotally coupled to the axle frame (30). The configuration of the wheel suspension allows for the wheel axis to passively follow the surface profile, as any loads transmitted through the wheel carrier act to level out the wheel suspension to align with the underlying surface. As the wheel axle is adjusted to lie parallel with the underlying surface, accordingly the ground-contacting surface area of the associated wheels is maximised.

MILLING MACHINE HAVING A VALVE CURRENT BASED HEIGHT MEASUREMENT SYSTEM

A milling machine may have a frame, a milling drum attached to the frame, and ground engaging tracks that support the frame and propel the milling machine in a forward or rearward direction. The milling machine may have height adjustable actuators connecting the frame to the tracks. Each actuator may have a cylinder attached to the frame, a piston slidably disposed within the cylinder, and a rod connected at a first end to the piston and connected to a track at a second end. The milling machine may have a tank storing hydraulic fluid and a fluid conduit connecting the tank to the cylinder. The milling machine may have a control valve selectively controlling a flow rate of the hydraulic fluid in the fluid conduit. The milling machine may also have a controller that determines a height of the frame relative to the ground surface based on the flow rate.

SUSPENSION APPARATUS

A suspension apparatus includes a valve device provided between an upper chamber and a lower chamber of each of hydraulic cylinders and configured to establish and block communication between these chambers. The valve device includes a first passage and an extension-side damping force generation mechanism. Hydraulic oil flows out from the upper chamber into the first passage due to a movement of a piston in a cylinder of each of the hydraulic cylinders. The extension-side damping force generation mechanism includes a damping valve and a back-pressure chamber. The damping valve is disposed in the first passage, and generates a damping force by restricting a flow of the hydraulic oil generated due to a sliding movement of the piston. The back-pressure chamber applies an inner pressure thereof to this damping valve in a valve-closing direction.
