Suspension
A suspension includes a housing, links, a radius arm, and a radius arm bush. The radius arm bush is provided on a front end of the radius arm, couples the radius arm to a vehicle body, with an elastic body in between, and is disposed vehicle-widthwise inwardly of a wheel center contact point of the rear wheel. The radius arm bush has higher rigidity with respect to turn of the radius arm with respect to the vehicle body in a direction in which an underside of the radius arm is displaced vehicle-widthwise outwardly from an upside of the radius arm, than rigidity with respect to turn of the radius arm with respect to the vehicle body in a direction in which the underside of the radius arm is displaced vehicle-widthwise inwardly from the upside of the radius arm.
INTEGRATED BAR-PIN CLEVIS JOINT CONNECTION
A vehicle suspension arrangement includes a mounting bracket, a trailing arm, an air spring assembly configured to bias a second end of the trailing arm from a vehicle frame member, an axle assembly couple to the trailing arm, and a trailing arm connection assembly that includes a connector having a first portion received within an aperture of the mounting bracket, and a second portion extending outwardly from the first portion and including an aperture, a bushing member received within a first end of the trailing arm, a pin member received within the bushing member and including a first aperture, and a first mechanical fastener received within the first aperture of the pin member and within the aperture of the second portion of the first connector, thereby pivotably securing the trailing arm to the mounting bracket.
VEHICLE REAR WHEEL SUSPENSION WITH TRACK CONTROL
An independent wheel suspension of a rear wheel of a motor vehicle, includes a control arm and a controllable actuator. The control arm is able to be articulated to a chassis of the motor vehicle and is able to be connected to a wheel carrier. The actuator is able to be fastened to the chassis and is able to be operatively connected to a front outer end of the control arm. According to the disclosure, when the actuator is controlled, said actuator is provided to carry out a length alteration which is substantially aligned in a direction parallel to a straight-ahead direction of travel.
Eccentric adjuster for adjusting a connecting point for a link of a hub carrier, and hub carrier comprising the eccentric adjuster
An eccentric adjusting unit is disclosed, for example, for adjusting a connection point for a control arm of a wheel suspension. The unit may include an electric motor and an eccentric gear section. The eccentric gear section may have an input shaft and an output shaft, wherein the input shaft is configured to be driven by the electric motor and the output shaft rotates eccentrically with respect to an output axis of rotation and can be in operative connection with the connection point or forms this connection point. The eccentric gear section may have a star wheel gear stage.
TURNING MECHANISM AND VEHICLE
A turning mechanism is equipped with a wire (first movable member) which moves in a movable direction (direction of the arrow B) under the motive power of a turning actuator, a wire (second movable member) which moves in a movable direction under the motive power of a turning actuator, and a coupler connecting the two wires. The coupler is configured in a manner so that the wires are capable of being moved independently in the case that a difference (differential angle) between the toe angles of the rear wheels lies within an allowable range, whereas in the case that the differential angle has exceeded the allowable range, is configured in a manner so that the wires are capable of being operated in a mutually interlocked manner.
Universal wishbone trailing arm
A universal wishbone trailing arm and methods are provided for coupling a wheel to a vehicle chassis. The universal wishbone trailing arm comprises a wheel hub that fastenably receives the wheel. A cylindrical axle support supports one or more roller bearings whereby the wheel hub is rotatable. A first swing arm and a second swing arm extend forwardly from a joined swing arm. The cylindrical axle support is coupled to a rear of the joined swing arm. A first chassis mount hingedly couples the first swing arm to the vehicle chassis. A second chassis mount hingedly couples the second swing arm to an articulated mount which is configured to couple the second swing arm to the vehicle chassis. The articulated mount cooperates with the first second swing arms to change the camber of the wheel, such that a tracking of the wheels remains substantially unchanged during traveling over rough terrain.
Toe control for adjustable axle
A method of regulating the operation of a vehicle axle system, the vehicle axle system including at least one adjustable axle having at least one axle cylinder and a steering assembly including at least one steering cylinder connected thereto, an axle management system including a microcontroller having a microprocessor, a memory, and a sensor. The method includes receiving, by the axle management system, at least one desired axle position and at least one measured axle position, from at least one sensor. The method also includes determining, if the measured axle position is within a predetermined tolerance threshold of the desired axle position and regulating the position of the at least one adjustable axle.
METHOD FOR PRODUCING A LINK MOUNTING ARRANGEMENT OF A MOTOR VEHICLE, AND MOUNTING ARRANGEMENT
A method for producing a mounting arrangement for a link of a motor vehicle suspension that is or can be pivotably mounted on a subframe of the motor vehicle, having the following steps: providing the subframe, which has a first and a second mounting flange for mounting the link; providing at least one intermediate product of a bracket; integrally joining the intermediate product to a mounting flange of the subframe by welding; forming an elongated hole in the intermediate product by punching of the same; and forming at least one stop on the intermediate product for an adjusting eccentric for chassis adjustment by stamping the intermediate product.
LOCK MECHANISM OF ACTUATOR
A lock mechanism is provided in an actuator capable of changing a toe angle of a wheel by rotational drive of a motor and adapted to lock operation of the actuator when the rotational drive of the motor is stopped. The lock mechanism includes a casing secured to a housing of the actuator, an input-side shaft connected to a motor shaft of the motor and rotatably held in the casing, an output-side shaft to which rotational torque is transmitted from the input-side shaft, and an engaging part. The engaging part includes a pair of friction members displaceably provided along a guide groove, a claw part having an acute shape in cross section and a side end part which are provided on the input-side shaft, an abutting part provided on each friction member, and a coil spring for urging each friction member.
Apparatus and method for adjusting a joint of a connecting rod
An apparatus for adjusting a joint of a connecting rod is provided. The joint couples a first segment of the rod to a second segment of the rod. The apparatus includes a body and a first leg having a first distal end for engaging the first rod segment to inhibit rotational movement of the first rod segment while permitting axial movement of the first rod segment relative to the first leg. The apparatus also includes a second leg for engaging the second rod segment. The second leg has a second distal end for inhibiting rotational movement of the second rod segment relative to the second leg. The apparatus further includes a clamp for selectively inhibiting axial movement of the second rod segment relative to the second leg.
