Leaf spring suspension system for a vehicle
A leaf spring suspension system for a vehicle includes a chassis rail. Also included is a pivot block operatively coupled to the chassis rail and rotatable relative to the chassis rail. Further included is a leaf spring operatively coupled to the pivot block proximate an end of the leaf spring. Yet further included is a half leaf spring operatively coupled to the pivot block proximate a first end of the half leaf spring and operatively coupled to a vehicle axle proximate a second end of the half leaf spring.
Lightweight vehicle
A universal assembly platform for lightweight vehicles, wherein the platform comprises a main vehicle chassis structure, a front suspension system connected to the main vehicle chassis structure and to which one or more front wheel assembly is mountable, and a rear suspension system connected to the main vehicle chassis structure and to which one or more rear wheel assembly is mountable. The rear suspension system is connected to the main vehicle chassis structure such that when the one or more rear wheel assembly is mounted to the rear suspension system a rear wheel of the one or more rear wheel assembly defines the distal end of an overall length of the vehicle.
Suspension device for electric vehicle
A suspension device for electric vehicle includes a pair of hollow members each connected to an elastic body configured to suspend a vehicle body of the vehicle, the pair of hollow members each configured to house, in an internal space of the hollow member, part of an associated one of a pair of drive shafts, a beam member joined to the pair of hollow members, and at least one of a hollow member joint portion or a beam member joint portion having a projecting portion, the hollow member joint portion constituting a side surface of each of the hollow members, the beam member joint portion constituting a side surface of an end portion of the beam member, the other one of the hollow member joint portion or the beam member joint portion having a recessed portion.
PROGRESSIVE RATE LEAF SPRING FOR VEHICLE SUSPENSION SYSTEM
A variable rate leaf spring vehicle suspension system includes a vehicle frame. The suspension system also includes a single leaf spring extending from a first end to a second end. The suspension system further includes a tension shackle pivotably coupled to the vehicle frame about an axis, the tension shackle defining a channel, the second end of the leaf spring disposed within the channel of the tension shackle, wherein the axis about which the tension shackle is pivotable is below the second end of the leaf spring.
AXLE WEIGHT SENSING DEVICE
A vehicle weight sensing system particularly useful for trailers. An axle tube is mounted to the vehicle or trailer through its suspension members that may be leaf springs. A mounting block is affixed to the axle tube for mounting a strain gauge. The mounting block is fixed to the axle tube between the suspension members connected to the axle tube. The mounting block has a mounting surface opposite to the mating surface and a notch extends from the mating surface toward the mounting surface. The notch terminates between the mating surface and the mounting surface. The notch separates rigidified sections of the mounting block and the rigidified sections straddle the notch. The stain gauge measures strain in the axle and thereby generates a signal proportional to the weight on the trailer. The signal can be used to properly proportion a brake system on the trailer.
Electric axle drivetrain assembly
An electric axle drivetrain assembly for use in a vehicle. The electric axle drivetrain assembly includes a motor that is drivingly connected to at least a portion of a differential assembly. Drivingly connected to ends of the differential assembly is a first axle half shaft and a second axle half shaft. At least a portion of a first and second wheel end assembly is connected to at least a portion of an end of the first and second axle half shafts opposite the differential assembly. A vehicle suspension system having a support member has a first hub carrier portion connected to a first end portion thereof and a second hub carrier portion connected to a second end portion thereof. Connected to at least a portion of a chassis is the motor and/or the differential assembly.
Progressive rate leaf spring for vehicle suspension system
A variable rate leaf spring vehicle suspension system is provided. The system includes a vehicle frame. The system also includes a single leaf spring extending from a first end to a second end. The system further includes a shackle operatively coupled to the vehicle frame and defining a channel, the second end of the leaf spring disposed within the channel of the shackle.
ROBOTIC VEHICLE AND A SUPPORT ASSEMBLY FOR A WHEEL THEREOF
An assembly for a wheel of a robotic vehicle and a method for overcoming an obstacle for said robotic vehicle. The assembly comprises a first arm portion and a second arm portion, the first arm portion being attachable to a chassis of the robotic vehicle at an attachment point and extending forwardly and downwardly relative to the attachment point in a direction of a movement of the robotic vehicle. The second arm portion is pivotably connected with the first arm portion at an arm pivot point and extends forwardly relative to the arm pivot point in the direction of the movement. The wheel is rotatably mounted on one end of the second arm portion opposed to the arm pivot point. A wheel rotation axis being positioned at least as high as the arm pivot point relative to a surface on which the robotic vehicle is positioned.
LEAF SPRING THAT PROVIDES MULTIPLE SPRING RATES
A leaf spring structure is designed as a single piece to be able to change the spring rates of leaf springs under a load independently from the manufacturing material. The operating mechanism of the leaf spring allows for increasing the spring rates by deactivating the short spring, which remains between the point A and the point B, as a result of the interaction between the short spring and the long spring after a certain amount of vertical displacement in the leaf spring.
Spring hanger for trailer frame
A spring hanger assembly may be formed pieces shaped to increase the stiffness and strength. The spring hanger assembly may comprise separate pieces, such as an inner section and an outer section. The spring hanger assembly may be attached to a frame using fasteners or hucks.
