SUSPENSION SYSTEM
An axle assembly for a vehicle includes an axle beam and a suspension system. The suspension system includes a mounting member, at least one positioning member, and at least one coupling member configured to cooperate to maintain a position of a working component. The mounting member having at least one aperture formed therein is freely disposed on the axle beam and the at least one coupling member is disposed through the at least one aperture of the mounting member and entirely outside the axle beam.
SUSPENSION FOR A VEHICLE
A suspension system for a rear axle of a vehicle provided with a frame equipped with at least two side members, the suspension system connecting the axle to said side members and comprising a left side and a right side, each comprising an axle-holder assembly, a bellows, a leaf spring, first and second bars, and a torsion bar interposed between said left and right sides. The aforementioned elements of the suspension system being arranged to provide a functional layout having reduced costs and overall dimensions.
BOLT ASSEMBLY FOR SPRING HANGER SYSTEM
An axle hanger includes a web, a first flange extending in a first direction perpendicular to the web, and a second flange extending in the first direction perpendicular to the web, spaced from and parallel to the first flange. A first return extends from the first flange toward the second flange parallel to the web, and a second return extends from the second flange toward the first flange parallel to the web. The axle hanger is easier to install and access in the event a hanger spring needs replacement, and the hanger can be more stably secured to the axle.
Suspension system of a vehicle axle
The invention relates to a suspension system of a vehicle axle, comprising: a leaf spring (11); a rear attachment device (24) configured to be secured to a vehicle frame (2) and comprising two parallel walls (40) spaced apart along a transverse direction by a distance (d). A rear end portion (14) of the leaf spring (11) is received in the rear attachment device (24), between said walls (40), and is capable of sliding longitudinally relative to the rear attachment device. The leaf spring rear end portion (14) has a first width (w1) which is smaller than the distance (d), and the leaf spring (11) has a second width (w2) which is greater than the distance (d), at least in a blocking portion (30) of the leaf spring (11) located forward of the rear end portion (14).
AXLE MOUNTING UNIT
Axle mounting unit (1), in particular for commercial vehicles, comprising a surrounding element (10), an end element (20), at least one fastening element (30) and a securing device (40), wherein the axle mounting unit (1) is configured for mounting a first chassis part (A), in particular an axle, with a second chassis part (L), in particular a control arm, wherein the surrounding element (10) is configured to be arranged on the first chassis part (A), wherein the end element (20) is configured to be arranged on the second chassis part (L), wherein the surrounding element (10) has at least two legs (12) which each extend in a leg direction (S), wherein the end element (20) extends between the two legs (12) or is configured to extend between the two legs (12), wherein the fastening element (30) braces the end element (20) with the surrounding element (10) or is configured to brace the end element (20) with the surrounding element (10), wherein the securing device (40) is a form-fit securing device and/or is a means for creating a form-fit securing device, wherein the form-fit securing device serves to limit and/or prevent a displacement of the separated part in the leg direction (S) in a positive-locking manner in the event of mechanical failure or the severing of a part of the axle assembly unit (1), in particular a part of the leg (12).
Axle sensor mounting
A vehicle weight sensing system is particularly useful for trailers. An axle tube is mounted to the vehicle or trailer through its suspension members that may be leaf springs. A mounting block is affixed to the axle tube for mounting a strain gauge. The mounting block is fixed to the axle tube between the suspension members connected to the axle tube. The mounting block has a mounting surface opposite to the mating surface and a notch extends from the mating surface toward the mounting surface. The notch terminates between the mating surface and the mounting surface. The notch separates rigidified sections of the mounting block and the rigidified sections straddle the notch. The stain gauge measures strain in the axle and thereby generates a signal proportional to the weight on the trailer. The signal can be used to properly proportion a brake system on the trailer.
Adjustable floating traction bar
An adjustable floating traction bar is disclosed. The traction bar comprises a rigid body having a threaded portion on a first distal end to receive a threaded eyelet having a spherical joint to provide a connection point to an axle of a vehicle. The traction bar further comprises an opposing distal slip end being machined and fitted with a UHMW (ultra high molecular weight) polyethylene bushing that acts as a slip-joint the slip joint having a first end that mounts to the UHMW polyethylene bushing of the tubular body and an opposing end having an eyelet to provide a connection point to a vehicle frame. A two-stage nested coil spring located inside the slip end of the rigid body that rests against the slip joint end when it is inserted into rigid body.
Suspension lowering system for vehicle transport
A method and apparatus for lowering the height of a wheeled vehicle for cargo height constraints during transportation. The rear leaf spring shackle on each side of the vehicle is connected to a sliding frame mount. In the transport configuration, fasteners are removed from the sliding frame mount, and the mount slides forward, rotating the rear leaf spring shackle from a near vertical to a near horizontal position, effectively lowering the height of the vehicle. To return the vehicle to the ride configuration, a screw jack member is attached to the sliding frame mount and a rear attachment point on the vehicle, pulling the sliding frame mount back, aligning attachment points of the mount with the frame member in the original position. The fasteners are reinstalled to lock the sliding frame mount into the ride configuration.
Axle spring seat attachment assembly
A spring seat attachment assembly for use with an axle/suspension system having at least one leaf spring and an axle, said attachment assembly including a band and a spring seat. The band may include a locator structure and is fixed to the axle and extends around a portion of the axle between 180 degrees and 360 degrees. The spring seat receives the leaf spring and is fixed to the band.
Spring hanger system and methods of making and using same
An axle hanger includes a web, a first flange extending in a first direction perpendicular to the web, and a second flange extending in the first direction perpendicular to the web, spaced from and parallel to the first flange. A first return extends from the first flange toward the second flange parallel to the web, and a second return extends from the second flange toward the first flange parallel to the web. The axle hanger is easier to install and access in the event a hanger spring needs replacement, and the hanger can be more stably secured to the axle.
