Torsion axle suspension system apparatus and method

A torsion axle assembly for supporting of a vehicle body on an undercarriage, including an elongated inner member having an inner member longitudinal axis; a torsion arm interconnected with the elongated inner member and the undercarriage; an elongated enclosure interconnected with the vehicle body and having an interior space; and resilient polymeric material residing within the interior space to support the elongated inner member within the interior space, such that the inner member longitudinal axis resides at an unloaded camber angle to an elongated enclosure longitudinal axis when none of the weight of the vehicle body is borne by the torsion axle assembly and at a loaded camber angle when the weight of the vehicle body is borne by the torsion axle assembly, such that the unloaded camber angle is greater than the loaded camber angle. A vehicle having such a torsion axle assembly and a method are disclosed.

A suspension system for supporting a ground engaging member relative to a frame is provided. The suspension system includes a torsion axle assembly including an arm, an axle coupled to the ground engaging member and connected to the arm, a shaft connected to the arm and a tube that is connected to the frame. The tube is configured such that at least a portion of the shaft is received in the tube and supported by the tube for rotation relative to the tube and the frame. A lockout assembly includes a coupling mechanism that is selectively operable to fix the shaft against rotational movement with respect to the tube.

TRAILER SUSPENSION

The suspension system for a trailer is disclosed. The suspension system includes a torsion axle and an air spring operating to accommodate a wide range of a load weight applied to the trailer without any change in ride comfort. The air spring can be adjusted for its pressure inside to cover a heavy load weight, while the torsion axle can have relatively softer spring materials therein to cover a light (and zero) load weight. The air spring and the torsion axle are arranged in series to provide adequate suspension based on the load weight.

The present disclosure relates to a flotation system for swathing rakes, attachable to a baler. It includes a support structure configured to be connected to a baler and to a displacement means; at least one arm including a first end connected to a swathing rake and a second end connected, by means of a hinged articulated joint, to the support structure; the swathing rake; the hinged articulated joint and a flotation cylinder joined to the support structure and to the arm configured such that it acts in traction, absorbing a part of the weight of the arm, and therefore of the swathing rake joined thereto. It also includes support and displacement means and a suspension system for said means.
