METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR AN ADJUSTABLE DAMPER
A vehicle suspension damper is described. The vehicle suspension damper includes: a pilot valve assembly; a primary valve; and an adjuster, wherein the pilot valve assembly meters fluid to the primary valve, and the adjuster moves the primary valve.
VEHICLE SUSPENSION WITH A REGENERATIVE HYDRAULIC SHOCK-ABSORBER AND WITH A SYSTEM FOR ADJUSTING THE ATTITUDE OF THE VEHICLE
A suspension including a spring interposed between the body (B) of the vehicle and the wheel (W); a regenerative hydraulic shock-absorbing unit comprising a hydraulic shock-absorber arranged parallel to the spring, a motor and pump unit with a volumetric hydraulic machine and an electric machine coupled to the hydraulic machine), and an electronic control unit arranged to control the torque of the electric machine. A hydraulic actuator is arranged in series with the spring. A reservoir and a hydraulic circuit are connected to each other, the hydraulic shock-absorber, the hydraulic machine the hydraulic actuator and the reservoir. The hydraulic circuit includes a valve assembly for controlling the flow of a working fluid between the hydraulic shock-absorber, the hydraulic machine, the hydraulic actuator and the reservoir.

SUSPENSION CONTROL SYSTEM FOR VEHICLE
A suspension control system includes: a first electric current setting unit configured to set a first electric current based on an actual damping speed; a second electric current setting unit configured to set a second electric current based on a model damping speed; a weight coefficient setting unit configured to set a weight coefficient based on the actual damping speed; and a target electric current setting unit configured to set a sum of a first value and a second value as a target electric current of the damper, the first value being obtained by multiplying the second electric current by the weight coefficient, the second value being obtained by multiplying the first electric current by a value obtained by subtracting the weight coefficient from one. The first electric current setting unit is configured to make the first electric current smaller than the second electric current in a prescribed case.
Active Suspension System
A suspension system includes a top mount, a bottom mount, a rigid housing, an air spring, and a linear actuator. The air spring transfers force of a first load path between the top mount and the bottom mount. The air spring includes a pressurized cavity containing pressurized gas that transfers the force of the first load path. The linear actuator transfers force of a second load path between the top mount and the bottom mount in parallel to the first load path. The rigid housing defines at least part of the pressurized cavity and transfers the force of the second load path.
VEHICLE SUSPENSION SYSTEM
A suspension system includes: an electromagnetic damper 2 that is provided between a vehicle body B which is a sprung member of a vehicle and a tire T which is an unsprung member of the vehicle, and applies a damping force and a drive force in a stroke direction to the vehicle body B and the tire T by a motor; an unsprung member acceleration sensor that detects unsprung member acceleration in the stroke direction of the tire; and an ECU that controls the motor. The ECU controls the motor to generate a load F.sub.m in such a direction that increases the relative velocity of the vehicle body B with respect to the tire T and of an amount corresponding to the unsprung member acceleration.
METHODS AND APPARATUS FOR COMBINED VARIABLE DAMPING AND VARIABLE SPRING RATE SUSPENSION
Pressure-sensitive vales are incorporated within a dampening system to permit user-adjustable tuning of a shock absorber. In one embodiment, a pressure-sensitive valve includes an isolated gas chamber having a pressure therein that is settable by a user.
