Integrated shock and suspension height sensor
A shock absorber for a vehicle suspension system may include a damper tube defining an axis, a rod operably coupled to the damper tube to be movable along the axis relative to the damper tube in response to jounce and rebound events, a dust boot operably coupled to the rod and extending along peripheral sides of the rod and at least a proximal end of the damper tube relative to the rod, the dust boot being movable with the rod, a target disposed on a damper bump cap operably coupled to the proximal end of the damper tube, and a measurement assembly affixed to the dust boot. The measurement assembly may include a PCB elongated parallel to the axis to track relative movement between the target and the measurement assembly responsive to the jounce and rebound events to generate ride height information based on the relative movement.
Eddy current sensor device for measuring a linear displacement
An Eddy current sensor device includes a sender member emitting a magnetic field and two sensing members. A central position sensing member includes a pair of central sense coils each being formed by a plurality of turns, and an edge position sensing member includes a pair of edge sense coils each being formed by a plurality of turns.
Shock absorber
A shock absorber includes a cylinder, a spring, a receiving member, a sensor, and a coupling member. The sensor includes a coil portion, and a core portion. The coupling member is formed integrally with the core portion. A recessed portion is formed in one of the receiving member and the coupling member, a protruding portion facing the recessed portion is formed in the other one of the receiving member and the coupling member, and the receiving member and the coupling member are coupled to each other via the recessed portion and the protruding portion.
GAS SPRING SEAL CAPS AS WELL AS GAS SPRING AND DAMPER ASSEMBLIES AND METHODS INCLUDING SAME
A gas spring seal cap secured a first end member of a gas spring and damper assembly such that a substantially fluid-tight connection is formed therebetween. Seal cap includes a seal cap body with a first end surface portion and a second end surface portion. An electrical conductor extends through seal cap body that includes a first terminal end conductively accessible from along the first end surface portion and a second terminal end that is conductively accessible from along the second end surface portion of seal cap body. Electrical conductor includes a substantially impermeable portion having a substantially fluid-tight connection with seal cap body. The substantially impermeable portion of electrical conductor substantially inhibits fluid communication across seal cap body through electrical conductor. Gas spring and damper assemblies as well as methods of assembly are also included.
Shock absorber
A shock absorber includes a cylinder which is a conductor; a rod inserted into the cylinder from one end side of the cylinder, a suspension spring arranged outside the cylinder, a spring receiver which receives a load of the suspension spring on the one end side of the rod, and a protective member arranged on the one end side of the rod and configured to protect the rod. The protective member has a coil configured to detect a relative position between the cylinder and the protective member, and an end portion formed on the one end side of the protective member is arranged so as not to receive a load from the spring receiver.
SENSOR SYSTEM FOR VEHICLES, IN PARTICULAR MOTOR VEHICLES, FOR DETECTING THE VEHICLE SPEED, THE VEHICLE LEVEL AND/OR THE STATE OF THE VEHICLE SUSPENSION, ARRANGEMENT FOR SUCH A SENSOR SYSTEM AND VEHICLE HAVING SUCH A SENSOR SYSTEM
An arrangement for a sensor system for vehicles, in particular motor vehicles, for detecting the vehicle speed, the vehicle level and/or the state of the vehicle suspension, having a sensor for measuring the level of a point on a vehicle body and a vibration damper, the vibration damper comprising a first part and a second part which are movable relative to each other, and wherein the level sensor has an excitation coil, at least one receiver coil and at least one electrically conductive element, wherein the excitation coil and the at least one receiver coil are arranged on the second part of the vibration damper and the electrically conductive element is arranged on the first part of the vibration damper or the first part comprises or forms the electrically conductive element.
Shock absorber with position sensor
Example aspects relate to a shock absorber with a position sensor, and a method to produce it. The shock absorber comprises a first and second damper part, which are arranged movable relative to each other in a longitudinal direction L. A position sensor is arranged to detect the relative position of the first damper part to the second damper part, and comprises an index element on the first damper part as well as an electric detection circuit for detecting the position of the index element. A flexible sleeve is at least partially arranged around the first and/or the second damper part and fixed relative to the second damper part. To enable a particularly simple design, the detection circuit is attached to the flexible sleeve.
Method and apparatus for controlling an actuator
At least one controller configured to control an actuator of an active suspension system. The at least one controller includes circuitry configured to determine an actuator state, and apply the actuator state and a commanded state to an inverse model of the actuator to produce an actuator command. The circuitry is configured to produce the actuator command by a process that includes performing low pass filtering and phase compensation to correct a phase introduced by the low pass filtering.
