Wheel carrier of a vehicle having a clamping-fit connection
A wheel carrier of a vehicle has a clamping-fit connection to a further component, preferably a suspension strut, including a threaded connection having a screw for clamping the clamping-fit connection; a hole, in which the screw sits; and a lever, which has a fastening segment and an impact segment. The fastening segment is fastened by the threaded connection. The impact segment protrudes from the fastening segment in such a way that, in the event of a vehicle crash and the accompanying deformation, a part of the vehicle applies a force to the impact segment in order to at least partially loosen the threaded connection. At least one material taper or material recess is formed in the material of the wheel carrier surrounding the hole in order to enable an at least partial break-out of the screw from the hole in the event of the application of force to the lever.
Suspension Adjuster
A wheel alignment Camber adjuster for a motor vehicle suspension of a popular 2 bolt flange strut comprising a transverse slot which can be in either the top or bottom hole.
Into the slot tab spaces are placed enabling the securing bolt to be placed in set positions of offset. 2 tabs one end of slot or 2 tabs other end or one tab to fill slot on either side of the bolt allows 3 separate adjustment positions. The adjuster is installed by removing one of the 2 bolts that secure the wheel hub. Hub is then swung clear of hole and a drill bit location device is used to allow to drill and convert accurately the round hole into a transverse slot. Hub is then repositioned so bolt can be inserted in place along with the tabs in slot at the required Camber position then nut attached allowing bolt to be fully re-tightened.
Cylinder device
The present invention provides a shock absorber serving as a cylinder device capable of securing a clearance between an outer tube and a peripheral member and improving bending rigidity of the outer tube. An outer tube 104 housing an inner tube 103 is provided with a pair of knuckle bracket fastening plates 110a and 110b protruding in one direction from an outer surface of the outer tube 104. The pair of knuckle bracket fastening plates 10a and 110b has wide surfaces facing each other, and the wide surfaces are provided along an axial direction of the outer tube 104. When the inside of a vehicle is defined as a virtual region I 192 and the outside of the vehicle is defined as a virtual region II 193 with a virtual line 191, which passes through a stroke center line 71 and matches the inside and outside of the vehicle, as a boundary in an orthogonal cross section at an arbitrary axial position of the outer tube 104 orthogonal to the stroke center line 71 of a piston rod 102, a cross-sectional area A.sub.i1 of the outer tube 104 in the virtual region I 192 is made larger than a cross-sectional area A.sub.o1 of the outer tube 104 in the virtual region II 193.
Apparatus and method for manufacturing a knuckle bracket
A knuckle bracket includes a bracket main body that has an inner peripheral shape along a tube of a shock absorber and a pair of attachment parts that are formed to protrude parallel to each other. The apparatus for manufacturing the knuckle bracket includes a width molding machine that molds a width of the pair of attachment parts in a state where the workpiece is supported on a support shaft, and a hole punching machine that machines attachment holes into the pair of attachment parts in a state where the workpiece is supported on the support shaft. The workpiece is transported from the width molding machine to the hole punching machine by moving the workpiece along the support shaft until the workpiece is above the die after the support shaft is raised and then lowering the support shaft until the support shaft abuts a top surface of the die.
Wheel carrier of a vehicle with clamp fit connection
A wheel carrier of a vehicle has a clamp fit connection to a further component, preferably a suspension strut. The wheel carrier includes a screw connection with a screw for clamping the clamp fit connection, and a lever with a fastening portion and an impact portion. The fastening portion is fastened under a head of the screw or under a nut of the screw connection. The impact portion protrudes from the fastening portion in such a manner that, in the event of a vehicle crash and the associated deformation, a part of the vehicle brings about a force on the impact portion in order at least partially to release the screw connection. The fastening portion is designed in order at least partially to break out from under the head or the nut during the action of force on the lever.
SHOCK ABSORBER
A shock absorber according to the present embodiment includes a shock absorber main body having a cylindrical outer shell and a rod movably inserted into the outer shell, and a knuckle bracket attached to an outer periphery of a lower end of the outer shell, in which the knuckle bracket includes a pair of clamping pieces that are curved along an outer periphery of the outer shell and clamp the outer shell, a pair of attachment pieces that extend in a radial direction of the outer shell from the ends in a circumferential direction of the respective clamping pieces and face each other, and a connecting piece that connects ends of the attachment pieces, a width between the tip ends in the circumferential direction of the inner peripheral surfaces of the respective clamping pieces is larger than the outer diameter of the outer shell, and the proximal end side than the tip ends in the circumferential direction of the inner peripheral surfaces of the respective clamping pieces abuts on the outer periphery of the outer shell.
SHOCK ABSORBER
A shock absorber according to the present embodiment includes a shock absorber main body having a cylindrical outer shell and a rod movably inserted into the outer shell, and a knuckle bracket attached to an outer periphery of a lower end of the outer shell, in which the knuckle bracket is formed by bending a single metal plate as a base material and includes a pair of clamping pieces that are curved along the outer periphery of the outer shell and clamp the outer shell, a pair of attachment pieces that extend in a radial direction of the outer shell from ends in a circumferential direction of the respective clamping pieces and face each other, a connecting piece that connects ends of the attachment pieces, and a pair of notches that cut off the three-plane intersection point where the clamping pieces, the attachment pieces, and the connecting piece intersect.
Piston And Cylinder Unit With An Add-On Part
A piston-cylinder unit having a cylinder with an add-on part which has a fastening portion that contacts a contact surface of the cylinder. A positive engagement connection fixing the add-on part to the cylinder is provided between the add-on part and the cylinder. The positive engagement connection is formed by a deformable rivet that extends through the fastening portion in a final assembly position and forms an undercut with the cylinder.
Knuckle bracket and pair of knuckle brackets
A knuckle bracket includes a cylindrical bracket main body that is fixed by welding to an outer periphery of an outer tube of a shock absorber and a pair of gripping pieces that extend along an axial direction of the bracket main body and stand up toward the outside from the bracket main body opposing each other.
