Wheel axle suspension with rectangular axle body
A wheel axle suspension of a vehicle, comprises an axle body having a rectangular cross section, a flexible trailing arm extending in a longitudinal direction of the vehicle and crossing the axle body substantially perpendicular, and at least one clamping strap assembly for clamping the axle body and the trailing arm together. The trailing arm has a front spring portion extending in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle and is provided with an axle seating portion adjoining the front spring portion at a rear end thereof. The axle seating portion comprises a longitudinal portion extending substantially in line with the front spring portion, and a downwardly extending portion extending substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal portion. The axle body is received in the axle seating portion with the upper side and rear side facing the longitudinal portion and the downwardly extending portion respectively. The axle seating portion of the trailing arm has an axle body facing surface having three engagement areas engaging the axle body respectively at the front upper corner, the rear upper corner and at a region at or adjacent the lower rear corner of the axle body. Between said engagement areas there is a clearance between the axle body facing surface of the axle seating portion and the upper side and rear side of the axle body.
LIGHTWEIGHT PUSHER/TAG AXLE
A non-driven axle for a vehicle or a trailer is provided. The non-driven axle includes a first arm portion, a second arm portion, and a central portion. The first arm portion is for rotatably mounting a first wheel hub. The second arm portion is for rotatably mounting a second wheel hub. The second arm portion is on an axial end of the central portion opposite the first arm portion. The central portion is between the first arm portion and the second arm portion and may be substantially arch-shaped or substantially ring-shaped. The substantially arch-shaped central portion includes a main portion and a radially inner portion. The substantially ring-shaped central portion includes a main portion and an inner portion. The non-driven axle reduces a weight of a vehicle or trailer while capable of being lifted without interfering with an operation of a drive axle.
Link Unit and Method for Producing a Link Unit
The present invention relates to a method for producing a link unit, comprising the steps of provision of a carrier, reshaping of the carrier in the region of a first connecting section in such a way that an upset section is formed, the wall thickness of the carrier being increased in the region of the upset section, and provision of a node element with a joint section, and connecting of the joint section to the first connecting section by means of a rotary friction welding method. Furthermore, the invention relates to a link unit, in which a carrier which is configured in the manner of a hollow body is connected to a node element by means of a rotary friction welding method.
RIGID AXLE COMPRISING AN AXLE CARRIER HAVING A CRANKED CONTINUOUS TUBULAR COMPONENT AND AN ELECTRICAL MACHINE MOUNTED THEREON
A rigid axle having an axle carrier, at each of the axial longitudinal end regions of which one wheel hub assembly is disposed, wherein: each wheel hub assembly has a rotatable wheel flange; the axle carrier is dropped in a drop region located between its longitudinal end regions; an electromechanical functional module having an electric energy converter machine is disposed in the drop region, which electric energy converter machine is connected to at least one wheel flange for transmitting a rotation, so that the energy converter machine can be used as at least one of the functional units stated hereinafter: i) as an electric drive unit for transmitting torque onto the at least one wheel flange, and ii) as an induction unit which can be operated as a generator for generating electric energy by transmitting torque from the at least one wheel flange to the energy converter machine; the axle carrier having a dropped tubular component which is continuous between its longitudinal end regions.
