PLANT COVER WITH INSECT RESISTANT BAG FOR ENCLOSING A PLANT
A plant cover apparatus includes a bag having an interior encompassed by a wall that extends from a top end of the bag and tapers inwardly to a bottom end of the bag. The bottom end includes a rim that laterally circumscribes a plant-receiving opening formed through the bag. The bag has a slot that extends vertically from the opening through the wall. The slot includes opposed margins having cooperatively interlocking parts that can temporarily be joined and separated to increase the size of the opening. The bag may be vertically suspended from a support member positioned next to the plant. An exterior perimeter of the bag may be rigid enough to help the bag maintain its shape when suspended.
More efficient structural cell for facilitating tree root growth
A structural cell system for supporting hardscape, allowing tree root growth, and managing stormwater underneath the hardscape. The system may include: a base having a plurality of receptacles and a plurality of support members interconnecting the receptacles; a plurality of legs each sized and shaped to be attachable to the base within one of the receptacles so as to extend from the base, and to be attachable to another of the legs so that pairs of legs attached to each other collectively extend from the base; and a top attachable to the legs. Outer edges of the base, the top, and the legs attached thereto define a volume, and are configured to support at least that portion of the hardscape overlying the top as well as a commercial vehicle traffic load thereon, while maintaining soil in a substantially uncompacted state throughout at least approximately ninety percent of the volume.
PLANT ROOT MANAGEMENT AND PROTECTION
A plant root management and protection system configured for embedding within a dug pit, the system comprising: a sidewall peripherally defining a receiving internal cavity and having (i) a top opening dimensioned to receive a root ball of a plant therethrough, and (ii) a bottom opening defined by a peripheral edge of the sidewall; and at least one root-guiding extension extending outwardly from the sidewall and perpendicularly to a longitudinal axis of the sidewall, wherein each of the at least one root-guiding extensions defines an open-ended hollow passageway in communication with the cavity; wherein, when embedded a dug pit, the longitudinal axis of the sidewall is upright and the top opening does not extend above surface level, and wherein at least a vertical portion of the sidewall ending with the peripheral edge is configured for entrenching in a bottom surface of the pit.
IRRIGATION APPARATUS AND FEEDING SYSTEM
An irrigation apparatus for dispersing liquid through a plant growing medium is disclosed. The apparatus includes a geometrically shaped container of variable size. The container has an outer wall with an inner surface, an open top, and a base portion configured to cover the plant growing medium. The base portion is configured with a plurality of holes for receiving liquid therethrough. The plurality of holes are configured as raised half-circles to block light and receive air, water, and nutrients. The container is configured with at least one center opening therethrough having an inner wall for receiving a plant. The center opening has at least one longitudinal opening extending therefrom to outer wall to allow placement of container on plant or to allow removal of container from plant. The container is configured with a plurality of geometrically shaped stakes of variable size extending therefrom the base portion for providing stability for apparatus to be secured in plant growing medium.
Soil form system supporting hardscape thereover
Soil form structure for supporting hardscape and corresponding vehicle, pedestrian traffic, and other loads while maintaining uncompacted or loosely compacted soil underneath. A number of cell structures may be coupled to each other, where each cell has a strong yet lightweight and open structure that can accept uncompacted soil, vegetation roots, utilities, and the like within at least approximately 85-90% of its volume, while also allowing hardscape to be poured or formed thereon. Thus, cell structures allow for hardscape to be integrally formed with the cell structures, without need for an underlying layer of highly compacted soil or other hardscape support.
Vineyard fruit protection apparatus and process
A removable netting system includes a netting tunnel adapted to be placed surrounding the fruit along a row of multiple vines without touching the fruit, thus protecting vine fruit from destruction by birds. The netting tunnel includes a pair of nets joined along top and bottom edges and rings which maintain the netting tunnel along the row of multiple vines.
Shelters for plants
Shelters for enhancing the growth of trees by protecting tree trunks from damaging sunlight. The shelters include a longitudinal tubular structure having a top edge and a bottom edge. The shelters includes a conduit extending from the top edge to the bottom edge of the shelter. The longitudinal tubular structure may be formed from a polymeric material including a pigment selected to block at least a portion of electromagnetic radiation. The polymeric material including the pigment blocks at least about 30% of electromagnetic radiation at any wavelength from about 200 nm to about 2500 nm.
Light emitting structures
A light emitting structure includes a plurality of structural members forming a framework, wherein the framework has a plurality of spaces between the plurality of structural members; a lighting circuit integrally connected to one or more of the plurality of structural members; and a plurality of light emitting diodes electrically connected to the lighting circuit, wherein the plurality of light emitting diodes are integrally connected to the plurality of structural members via the lighting circuit; wherein the plurality of structural members are constructed to support one or more plants.
Tree and/or agricultural sapling protector
A sapling protector having a truncated cone-shaped metal tube formed from a flexible electrolytic tinplate and/or electrolytic chromium coated steel metal sheet is provided. The sapling protector also includes at least one fastener and is perforated with a plurality of holes. The truncated cone-shaped metal tube of the sapling protector also has a coating on the outer surface of the metal sheet and the edges of the metal sheet are hemmed so as to limit the presence of sharp edges and provide a safe device. The sapling is recyclable, ecofriendly, reusable, and safe; it may be used for multiple growing seasons; and may be transferable between new saplings over the course of multiple years. The corresponding method of protecting a tree sapling and sapling protector kit are also provided.
