Method for controlling a system for a motor vehicle

A method for controlling a system for a motor vehicle is disclosed. The system includes an actuator, a volatile memory (RAM) in which an item of position information of the actuator (IP.sub.RAM) is stored, and a long-term memory (EPROM). The following are stored in the long-term memory (EPROM): at least one item of position information (IP.sub.ROM) of the actuator and an item of information relating to the powering down of the actuator (I.sub.HT), which assumes a first value (v1) when the system has been powered down in a controlled manner and assuming assumes a second value (v2) when the system has suffered a fault causing the current value of the position of the actuator stored in the volatile memory (RAM) to be deleted.

Climate controlled front trunk

This disclosure relates to a climate controlled front trunk. In some aspects, the techniques described herein relate to a motor vehicle, including: a climate control system; and a front trunk establishing a cargo space, wherein the front trunk is configured to receive thermally conditioned air from the climate control system.

The present invention relates to an airside system for a vehicle HVAC system and to a HVAC apparatus, system and method having a multidirectional vent formed integrally with a mount adapted to receive a user interface in the form of a centrally disposed touch screen. The vent/interface assembly may be disposed inside the vehicle cabin including, but not limited to, the dashboard and/or instrument panel. The one or more outlets of the vent may be disposed partially or completely around the touch screen perimeter. Each outlet may flow in one or more directions, be individually adjustable either automatically or manually, or be stationary. The assembly may be configured to position the user interface offset from the dashboard. The outlet(s) of the vent may be partially or completely hidden behind the user interface. On/off and directional control of each outlet may be achieved by means of vanes, blades, and/or slots.

Assembly and method for reversing driver's and passenger's sides in a truck cab

An assembly facilitating installation of a steering column on an original passenger's side of a truck cab includes an aftermarket dash panel having a steering column opening configured to be located on the original passenger's side of the truck cab and an HVAC access opening configured to be located on an original driver's side of the truck cab. A first bracket has a forward portion for connection to original HVAC ductwork of the truck cab and has a rearward portion for connection to the aftermarket dash panel. The aftermarket dash panel comprises a single piece that extends from a left side of the truck cab to a right side of the truck cab. A method for moving a steering column of a truck cab from an original driver's side of the truck cab to an original passenger's side of the truck cab is also described.

An air conditioner is disposed in a vehicle in which a driving device of a traveling power source is housed in an outer space separated from a cabin by a partition wall. The air conditioner includes: a temperature control unit that controls a temperature of air blown into the cabin; and plural air distribution ducts connected to the temperature control unit to guide temperature-controlled air having a temperature controlled by the temperature control unit to predetermined positions in the cabin. The temperature control unit is disposed in the outer space together with the driving device. Intermediate parts of the air distribution ducts located at least between the outer space and the cabin are bundled together and extended through a single insertion hole formed in the partition wall.
