REAR HVAC CENTER STRUCTURE AND DOOR MECHANISM

An HVAC system for a vehicle includes a first shell, an opposing second shell, and a divider disposed between the first shell and the second shell. The system further includes a first conduit defined between the first shell and a first side of the divider, and a first door disposed in the first conduit and configured to control a volume flow rate in the first conduit. The system further includes a second conduit defined between the second shell and a second side of the divider opposing the first side, and a second door disposed in the second conduit and configured to control a volume flow rate in the second conduit.

Air conditioner for vehicle

An air conditioner for a vehicle has a housing. The housing defines an air passage therein, includes a suction port, and houses a blower fan. The blower fan draws an air from the suction port and discharges the air into the air passage. The housing includes a facing portion that faces an inlet defining member including an air inlet. The facing portion includes the suction port. The facing portion has a rib that protrudes from the facing portion toward the inlet defining member. The facing portion and the rib define at least a part of an air guiding passage that guides the air from the air inlet to the suction port.

The present embodiments relate to an HVAC system which is externally mounted on a vertical surface of an RV, truck or bus. The desire is to eliminate, or at least substantially reduce, a potential leakage path wherein water may sit on an upper surface of a vehicle and due to seal degradation over long periods of time, may find a pathway in through the roof of the vehicle and to an interior thereof. By positioning the HVAC on a vertical surface, gravity works to move water downward and away from the HVAC system rather than allowing it to stagnate in an area around potential apertures through the outer skin or outer surface of the vehicle.

A refrigeration system includes a primary evaporator that cooperates with a compressor, which compresses first refrigerant containing lubricant oil, to form a refrigeration cycle that circulates the first refrigerant. At the primary evaporator, the first refrigerant absorbs heat from second refrigerant and is thereby evaporated. The refrigeration system further includes a condenser, at which the second refrigerant releases heat to the first refrigerant and is thereby condensed. The refrigeration system also includes a secondary evaporator that cooperates with the condenser to form a refrigerant circulation circuit, in which the second refrigerant is circulated. At the secondary evaporator, the secondary evaporator absorbs heat from a primary cooling subject and is thereby evaporated. A refrigerant flow passage of the primary evaporator and a refrigerant flow passage of the condenser are independently formed, so that the refrigeration cycle and the refrigerant circulation circuit are independently formed.
