A shut-off damper of an air-conditioning register has a damper body serving as a frame portion and a sealing portion softer than the damper body. The sealing portion includes a distal sealing portion caused to contact an inner wall surface of a retainer at a closed position and a flexible joint portion joining the distal sealing portion and the damper body together. The distal sealing portion has a cross section configured by a projected curved portion and contacts the inner wall surface of the retainer at the curved portion. At least a part of the joint portion has an increased thickness portion having a thickness increasing toward the damper body.

A climate control system for a vehicle comprises a housing and a diverter. The housing has a first conduit formed therein. The first conduit includes a first subconduit formed in an intermediate portion of the first conduit and a second subconduit disposed adjacent an end of the first subconduit. The diverter is rotatably disposed within the first conduit, and includes a first member having an outer edge and an offset edge. The outer edge is disposed on a first planar portion of the first member and configured to sealingly contact a wall of the first subconduit when the diverter is in a first position. The offset edge is disposed on a second planar portion of the first member and configured to sealingly contact a portion of the second subconduit when the diverter is in the first position.

METHOD OF DISTRIBUTING AIR VENTILATION IN A VEHICLE

An air handling system for a heating, ventilation, and air conditioning system of a motor vehicle includes a conduit configured to convey air from the air handling system to a vent of the air handling system. A control door is rotatably disposed in the conduit. The control door selectively rotates between a first position and a second position. The first position blocks passage of the air flowing through the conduit. The second position blocks passage of the air flowing through a first portion of the conduit and allows the air to flow through a second portion of the conduit. A control feature is disposed in the second portion of the conduit to control at least one of a volumetric flow rate and a pressure of the air flowing through the second portion.

VEHICLE AIR-CONDITIONING APPARATUS

A vehicle air-conditioning apparatus includes emergency dampers switchable between opening states for opening emergency vents and closing states for closing emergency vents. A control device switches the emergency dampers from the closing states to the opening states while keeping an indoor fan operating, when determining that refrigerant is leaked from a refrigerant circuit on the basis of results of detection by refrigerant leakage detectors. An indoor unit chamber includes supply air guiding sub-chambers for guiding the internal air delivered by the indoor fan to supply openings. The emergency vents are included in the supply air guiding sub-chambers. The indoor fan forms flows of the internal air with the air pressures in the supply air guiding sub-chambers being higher than the atmospheric pressure.

HEATING, VENTILATION, AND AIR CONDITIONING UNIT
20170210200 · 2017-07-27 ·

A heating, ventilation, and air conditioning unit includes a case, a door, an actuator, and a holding member. The case has a first wall, a second wall, and a third wall. The first wall and the second wall are connected by the third wall to face each other. The door is rotatably disposed inside the case through a rotational axis. The door rotates about the rotational axis to selectively open and close an air outlet. The actuator rotates the door between a closed position where the door closes the air outlet and an open position where the door opens the air outlet. The holding member is disposed in the second wall and holds the door when the door rotates to the open position by engaging the door.

A temperature door for an air handling system of a heating, ventilating, and air conditioning system includes a first surface defining a sealing perimeter and a pivoting structure coupled to the first surface and defining an axis. The first surface is configured to pivot about the axis in the housing of the air handling system. A sealing lip is disposed about the sealing perimeter of the first surface and is adapted to engage a corresponding sealing surface of the housing of the air handling system. A pivoting of the first surface about the axis from a sealed position causes a progressive disengagement of the sealing lip from the sealing surface beginning in a location proximate the axis while at least a portion of the sealing lip remains engaged with the sealing surface at a location spaced from the axis.

DOOR FOR AIR CONDITIONER

In a door for an air conditioner provided with a pair of seal lips, an abutting force of the door is equalized whichever seal lip abuts on the seat portion first, and flexibility of the seal lips is secured, and further, noise occurring due to air passing between an inner wall of a case and the seal lips can be reduced. A seal structure provided in a door body of a door for an air conditioner is configured by including a pair of seal lips provided along an axial direction or a radial direction of a rotary shaft and protruding toward the outside of the door body, and an auxiliary lip provided between the pair of seal lips and protruding toward the outside of the door body, in which a tip end portion of the auxiliary lip is extended farther from a virtual line connecting respective tip end portions of the pair of seal lips and angles made by the auxiliary lip and the respective seal lips are equalized, and a protruding amount of the auxiliary lip is set so that the auxiliary lip does not contact an inner wall of the case.

HVAC dual inlet design for partial recirculation operation

An air handling system a housing defining an inlet section which includes a first inlet portion and a second inlet portion. The first inlet portion includes a first recirculation inlet receiving recirculated air from a passenger compartment of the vehicle and a first ambient air inlet receiving ambient air from the environment. The second inlet portion includes a second recirculation inlet receiving recirculated air from the passenger compartment of the vehicle and a second ambient air inlet receiving the ambient air from the environment. A first air distribution door and a first baffle door are disposed in the inlet section to selectively control distribution of the recirculated air and the ambient air entering the first inlet portion. A second air distribution door and a second baffle door are disposed in the inlet section to selectively control distribution of the recirculated air and the ambient air entering the second inlet portion.

BARREL AIRFLOW VOLUME CONTROL SYSTEM

Disclosed is a product that may include a barrel airflow volume control system, for a vehicle, including a first barrel door and a second barrel door operatively connected together so that the first barrel door and the second barrel door move away from each other to provide an air passageway opening therebetween, and move toward each other to reduce or close the air passageway opening between the first barrel door and the second barrel door.
