A vehicle air-conditioning apparatus includes a refrigerant circuit including a heat exchanger, a fan which sends air to the heat exchanger, and a controller which controls the refrigerant circuit and the fan. The vehicle air-conditioning apparatus is mounted on a vehicle. The controller determines if a position of the vehicle or a speed of the vehicle satisfies a predetermined condition. The controller acquires a physical quantity, the physical quantity having already been correlated with a clogging amount of the heat exchanger and the correlation being dependent on whether the predetermined condition is satisfied. The controller determines whether or not clogging occurs in the heat exchanger based on the physical quantity.

Vehicle thermal management at condensers of the refrigerant loop

Thermal management in a vehicle involves a compressor to output a refrigerant in vapor form for circulation in a refrigerant loop. A thermal management system includes a heating, ventilation, and air conditioning system in the refrigerant loop including an evaporator and an HVAC condenser, and an exterior condenser in the refrigerant loop configured to vent heat to an exterior of the vehicle. A first variable refrigerant flow valve controls a flow rate of the refrigerant output by the compressor into the HVAC condenser, and a second refrigerant flow valve controls a flow rate of the refrigerant output by the compressor into the exterior condenser. A controller controls the first refrigerant flow valve and the second refrigerant flow valve based on a target output temperature for the HVAC condenser.

TEMPERATURE ADJUSTMENT DEVICE CONTROLLER FOR CONVERTIBLE VEHICLE

A temperature adjustment device controller is configured to determine a temperature adjustment control basic value from a necessary temperature adjustment control amount calculated based on a parameter including environmental information, set a target blowing temperature of temperature adjustment air based on the temperature adjustment control basic value, and set a target blowing amount of the temperature adjustment air based on the temperature adjustment control basic value, an open-closed state of a movable roof, and a vehicle speed.

Systems and methods for providing an improved strategy for controlling a variable speed water pump in a vehicle. In some embodiments, more than one water pump speed function is calculated based on values obtained from vehicle sensors, and a controller chooses among the water pump speed function results to set a water pump speed. In some embodiments, the water pump speed is increased when driveline torque is greater than a threshold amount for an amount of time that varies based on the driveline torque. In some embodiments, ambient temperature is considered while determining whether the water pump should provide full coolant flow to an auxiliary coolant loop of a trailer.

Vehicle climate control method

A method for controlling a climate control system is disclosed. In one example, the climate control system includes adjusting an air mixing valve state and adjusting a displacement of a compressor in response to an energy conversion device load. The method may provide improved climate control in a vehicle cabin during high energy conversion device load conditions.

Cooling system, motor vehicle and method for cooling same

A cooling system (10) for a motor vehicle has an air system that fluidically connects a plurality of coolers (12) for supplying the coolers (12) with cooling air (16). An air fan is arranged fluidically in the air system for conveying the cooling air (16) to the coolers (12). Valves are arranged fluidically in the air system upstream of the coolers (12), for blocking the cooling air (16) conveyed to the respective cooler (12).

Heat exchange unit

In a heat exchange unit, a shutter device is disposed on a vehicle front side with respect to a coolant heat exchanger to open and close a passage for traveling air directed toward the coolant heat exchanger. A blower is switchable between a first blowing state in which air flows from the vehicle front side to the vehicle rear side and a second blowing state in which air flows from the vehicle rear side to the vehicle front side. In a case where a switch that makes a vehicle travelable is in an on state, a control unit switches the blower to the second blowing state, while an open degree of the shutter device is set at a closing side from a maximum open degree of the shutter device when a temperature of the engine coolant is equal to or lower than a predetermined temperature determination value.

Control method for vehicle air conditioning, and vehicle air conditioning device

A vehicle air-conditioning device is provided for controlling a vehicle air-conditioning of a vehicle in accordance with a control method. The air-conditioning compressor is stopped for a first time period after a brake pedal transitions from an operated state to a non-operated state when negative pressure inside a vacuum servo is insufficient relative to a predetermined pressure while an air-conditioning compressor is operating, and The air-conditioning compressor is stopped for a second time period after the acceleration pedal has come to be in a non-operated state when an acceleration pedal is operated before the first time period elapses.
