System for monitoring and/or controlling the air quality in a vehicle
Provided is a control unit and a system for monitoring in real-time and/or controlling the air quality of a vehicle cabin. Upon receiving input data from various sensors in the cabin of the vehicle, the control unit processes the data and outputs a unified processed/calculated data of all the sensed data from sensors in the cabin that is indicative of the general air quality in the cabin. In addition, the control unit may output instructions of operations that need to be carried out for optimal circulation of the air that results in improvement of the air quality within the cabin. These instructions of operations may be also affected from data that is received by the control unit that is indicative of the air quality in the surrounding of the vehicle.
Method for monitoring the quality of the air in a passenger compartment of a vehicle
A vehicle and method are provided for monitoring and changing quality of air in a passenger compartment of a vehicle so that the air quality remains above a predeterminable threshold value. The vehicle has an air quality sensing device and an air quality changing device. The method includes sensing the quality of the air in the passenger compartment and in the surroundings of the vehicle with the air quality sensing device; and in the event that the quality of the air in the passenger compartment of the vehicle drops below the predeterminable threshold value, changing the quality of the air in the passenger compartment of the vehicle with the air quality changing device so that the quality of the air in the passenger compartment rises above the predeterminable threshold value.
GAS SENSING DEVICE DESIGNED FOR ENVIRONMENTAL DECONTAMINATION WITH SIMULTANEOUS ALERT EMISSION
Breathing naturally produces CO.sub.2, which means that the presence of people or animals inside the passenger compartment of a vehicle can be detected. In the presence of at least one occupant, in as little as five minutes, the concentration of carbon dioxide can become dangerous. To remediate high concentrations of carbon dioxide within the passenger compartment, a warning is provided that instructs any occupant to start the vehicle. Should the vehicle not be started within a predetermined period of time after the warning, certain automatic remediation actions are taken, provided that the battery of the vehicle retains enough power to start the vehicle. If the automatic remediation actions fail to lower the levels of carbon dioxide, then all available power is utilized to reduce the levels of carbon dioxide and to bring assistance to the occupants of the vehicle.
Automatic air recirculation systems for vehicles
An apparatus includes a capture device and a processor. The capture device may be configured to generate pixel data corresponding to an exterior view from a vehicle. The processor may be configured to generate video frames from the pixel data, perform computer vision operations on the video frames to detect objects in the video frames and determine characteristics of the objects, analyze the characteristics with respect to the vehicle to determine visual indicators to predict an air quality and generate a control signal in response to an air quality value. The control signal may be configured to toggle an activation of an air recirculation feature of the vehicle when the air quality value reaches a threshold value. The visual indicators may be used to adjust the air quality value.
DEVICE AND METHOD FOR CONDITIONING AIR IN AN ENCLOSED SPACE AND VEHICLE COMPRISING THE DEVICE
Device for conditioning air in an enclosed space, including first and second sorption units, each for being transferred from a sorption mode into a desorption mode and vice-versa; and to, in the sorption mode, sorb the one or more air constituents from air of the enclosed space; and to, in the desorption mode, desorb the one or more air constituents, and including an air distribution device to, in a first operating state, switch to a second operating state in which exchange of the air of the enclosed space with exterior air may be provided, if it is determined that a concentration of at least one air constituent of the one or more air constituents is above a limit, and, in the second operating state, switch to the first operating state, if it is determined that concentrations of all air constituents of the one or more air constituents are within their corresponding limit.
VEHICLE-BASED AIR QUALITY AND NOISE LEVEL SAMPLING FOR USE WITH OFFBOARD MAPPING SOFTWARE
A host vehicle for use with a remote processing station (RPS) configured to generate a pollution report from a global set of pollution data includes a vehicle body, a vehicle telematics unit (VTU), a sensor suite, and an electronic control unit (ECU). The sensor suite includes acoustic and/or an air quality sensors respectively configured for collecting pollution data samples. The pollution data samples include ambient noise and/or air quality levels as part of the global set of pollution data. The ECU selectively transmits the pollution data sample(s) to the RPS in response to predetermined conditions, via the, receives the pollution report descriptive of noise and/or air quality levels at a current location or destination of the host vehicle, and executes a control action of the host vehicle or another receiving device in response to the pollution report.
PRESSURE RELIEF VALVE
The present disclosure provides a pressure relief valve configured to adjust a pressure of a vehicle cabin. The pressure relief valve includes: a housing, a passage opening cover, and an implementing mechanism. The housing is provided with a passage therein, the passage is configured to be capable of bringing the vehicle cabin into fluid communication with an outside atmosphere, and the passage has a passage opening. The passage opening cover is configured to be movable between an open position and a closed position, the passage opening is open when the passage opening cover is in the open position, and the passage opening is closed when the passage opening cover is in the closed position. The implementing mechanism is configured to drive the passage opening cover such that the passage opening cover is movable between the open position and the closed position. According to the present disclosure, signal information of pressure in a vehicle cabin, wading and dust density is obtained, and a traditional rotary opening mode of the pressure relief valve is changed into a linear opening mode through motor driving, such that electrification of the pressure relief valve is achieved, noise from the outside of the vehicle is reduced, and waterproof and dustproof performances of the pressure relief valve are improved.
