Heating and Cooling System for a Vehicle

A heating and cooling system for a vehicle having an internal combustion engine is provided. The system comprises at least one exhaust pipe conveying exhaust gases away from the engine, and a reactor vessel located in the exhaust pipe and containing an absorbent salt and a refrigerant fluid. A condenser is in fluid communication with the reactor vessel, and receives refrigerant vapour from the reactor when exhaust gases heat the reactor vessel in the exhaust pipe. An evaporator is locatable in a cab of the vehicle and is in fluid communication with the condenser and the reactor vessel. The evaporator receives condensed refrigerant from the condenser so as to cool the air surrounding the evaporator, and returning refrigerant vapour to the reactor vessel. A method of cooling a driver environment of a vehicle having an internal combustion engine is also provided, as is a vehicle incorporating the heating and cooling system.

A vehicle heater includes a first housing arrangement (12), a second housing arrangement (14) connected with the first housing arrangement (12) in an adjoining area (32), and at least one sensor (54) with a holding area (62). The holding area (62) is held in the adjoining area (32) in a support path between the first housing arrangement (12) and the second housing arrangement (14).

A heat exchanger arrangement, especially for a vehicle heater, includes a pot-like heat exchanger housing (12) extending in the direction of a longitudinal axis (L) of the housing. The heat exchanger housing includes an outer housing part (14) with the outer circumferential wall (18) and with an outer bottom wall (20) as well as an inner housing part (16) with the inner circumferential wall (22) and with an inner bottom wall (24). A heat carrier medium flow connecting piece (50, 52), open towards the heat carrier medium flow space, is provided at an axial end area (44) of the outer circumferential wall of the outer housing part, the end area being located at a distance from the outer bottom wall. A waste gas flow connecting piece (30) is open towards an interior space (26) of the heat exchanger housing, which interior space is enclosed by the inner wall.

As an embodiment, the present invention provides a technology of carrying out heating not using a battery in an electric vehicle, a technology of heating a battery so that performance of the battery does not decrease under a low outdoor temperature condition, and a technology of carrying out heating with not decreasing driving distance of the electric vehicle or increasing the driving distance of the electric vehicle.

This present invention relates to a single body air treatment system for recreational vehicles and is a combination of components working in a scheme so to provide heating, cooling, dehumidification, ventilation, air-purification, heavy-duty drying, into a single body. The system comprising of a cooling air plant having a refrigerating cycle (105,107,108,109) and air heat exchangers acting with electricity and a heating plant having an incorporated fuel/Natural-Gas burner (118,119) acting as air furnace. The system operates heating and cooling simultaneously with in the same air-flow and provides air purification through an antibacterial electrical device. The system also integrates extra pipes to produce extra hot-water in winter while the system operates in heating. The system is integrated with a dedicated resonator chamber to minimize the external noise produce by extraction blowers.

An air heater for a vehicle comprises a subassembly for generating heat, a heat exchanger which thermally interacts with the subassembly, an outer housing which receives the subassembly and the heat exchanger, wherein the outer housing and the heat exchanger together form at least one heating air channel which is formed by an inner wall of the housing and an outer wall of the heat exchanger, and a heating air blower which is configured to draw in heating air via a suction opening of the outer housing and to convey it in a flow direction through the at least one heating air channel and to discharge the heating air via a discharge opening.
