Stackable trellis support system
11178825 · 2021-11-23 · ·

The stackable trellis support system of the present invention comprises base and main trellis assemblies having wire mesh over the horizontal wire mesh frame assembly. The base trellis assembly allows additional sections to be added to the system, utilizing four main post apparatuses for connecting each trellis assembly. Any number of main trellis assemblies may be connected using the main post apparatus to form the stackable trellis support system. The base trellis assembly can be anchored in soil/ground using anchored rebar stakes to which the base post apparatus slides over and attaches, using locking bolts, allowing the height of base trellis assembly to be adjustable along the vertical axis of said rebar stakes, and perpendicular to soil/ground. The trellis side wire panels can be hung from said wire mesh frame assembly to provide vertical support.

PLANT CULTIVATION SYSTEM

A system and method are provided for the indoor and outdoor cultivation of larger fruiting plants. Improved lighting techniques, plant layouts, and space utilization are provided to improve the quality and yields of harvested products from large fruiting plants on a per plant and unit area basis. The uniformity of artificial light is improved from the top to the bottom of tall plants and vines, and overcome the lack of light penetration through the canopy of the plant by changing the orientation of lights from a horizontal to vertical alignment along the side of the plant verses over the top of the canopy, as well as increasing the number of light sources to reduce shading. Plants are trained to grow in specific directions and orientations in a grid system to enable an optimal and uniform light distribution and to improve space utilization in a given growing area.

Joining Assembly and Securing Device for use in a Joining Assembly (FIG. 1) A securing device (12) for use in a joining assembly (10) is disclosed. The securing device (12) comprises a clamping mechanism (30) for securing an elongate article (100) to the securing device (12). A connecting arrangement (20) is co-operable with a connecting arrangement on a further securing device (14), thereby connecting the securing device (12) to a further securing device (14). The joining assembly (10) comprises two of the securing devices (12, 14).

TRELLIS

A black pepper trellis system. A method of growing black pepper plants is described including constructing a continuous trellis system including vertical and horizontal vine support lines, where the vertical lines are up to 5 meters high and are up to 50 centimeters apart, covering up to 20 acres of soil or more, and growing pepper vines up and across the vertical and horizontal lines, resulting in a dense hedgerow of pepper plants and enhanced black pepper yield per acre. The trellis system and black pepper per acre produced by the above system processes is also described.

A method of restricting the growth of vines along a guy wire includes possessing a member defining a tapered chamber having first and second openings. The chamber is tapered such that the chamber is widest at the first opening. The method further includes positioning the member such that the guy wire extends through the first opening, the second opening, and the tapered chamber.

A trellis post comprises a moulded plastic tubular element defining a central post, the central post providing an interior and defining two flanges extending from opposed sides of the central post. The flanges extend along the length of the tubular element and define a series of spaced apart slots for receiving wires. The trellis post defines a ground engaging spike at one end. The moulded plastic tubular element is reinforced with an internal stake extending through the interior of the post and a supporting/filling material is located between the stake and the interior of the central post. The filling material may be a foamed plastics material, mortar, concrete, and Portland cement.
