A combustion air connection unit (64), carried on the heater housing, has a combustion air passage duct (74) open outwardly in a first duct opening area (76) for receiving combustion air. The combustion air passage duct is open towards the combustion air inlet opening in a second duct opening area (78).
ELECTRIC HEATER FOR USE IN VEHICLE AND VEHICLE INCLUDING THE SAME
An electric heater for a vehicle includes a heat dissipation fin for heat-exchange with air, a ceramic element to emit heat by receiving a power-supply voltage, and a housing to support the heat dissipation fin and the ceramic element. The ceramic element includes a first positive temperature coefficient (PTC) element, and a second PTC element having a heating power greater than a heating power of the first PTC element.
FUEL-OPERATED VEHICLE HEATER AND METHOD FOR OPERATING A FUEL-OPERATED VEHICLE HEATER
A method for operating a fuel-operated vehicle heater, wherein after receipt of a switch-off signal by a control unit of the fuel-operated vehicle heater, a shutdown phase is initiated, during which remaining fuel present in the fuel-operated vehicle heater is combusted, and wherein a restart phase is initiated by the control unit after receipt of a switch-on signal during the shutdown phase, without the shutdown phase being terminated after complete combustion of the remaining fuel.
CAB HEATING SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR VEHICLES
A cab heating system for a vehicle comprising a turbine engine, a heat exchanger, and a duct. The turbine engine generates exhaust containing waste heat. The heat exchanger comprises a first portion, a second portion, and first and second lines for carrying auxiliary working fluid between the first and second portions. The duct is operatively connected to carry exhaust from the turbine engine to the first portion of the heat exchanger. The first portion of the heat exchanger transfers waste heat of the exhaust generated by the turbine engine to the auxiliary working fluid. The first line carries the auxiliary working fluid to the second portion of the heat exchanger. The heat exchanger extracts heat from the auxiliary working fluid. The second line carries the auxiliary working fluid to the first portion of the heat exchanger.
METHOD FOR INCREASING A TEMPERATURE OF A VEHICLE INTERIOR, AND VEHICLE FOR IMPLEMENTING THE METHOD
The disclosure relates to a method for increasing a temperature of a vehicle interior of a vehicle from a low temperature value to an increased temperature value, wherein the vehicle has a fuel cell system with a fuel cell stack and a compressor connected with the fuel cell stack at the cathode side, comprising: drawing in cathode gas via the compressor, and compressing and heating the drawn-in cathode gas. At least a portion of a cathode gas mass flow of the heated cathode gas is directed into the vehicle interior, and the temperature of the vehicle interior is raised to the increased temperature value. Moreover, the disclosure relates to a vehicle for implementing the method.
VEHICLE HEATING SYSTEM
A vehicle heating system includes a fuel-operated heater (16) with a burner area (18), with a combustion air blower (20) for feeding combustion air to the burner area (18). A fuel pump (26) feeds fuel to the burner area (18). An actuating device (40) actuates the combustion air blower (20) and the fuel pump (26). The actuating device (40) is configured to actuate the combustion air blower (20) and the fuel pump (26) to carry out a fording operation upon receipt of a fording state information.
