AIR VENT

An air vent for a vehicle or vehicle canopy includes an external and an internal duct. The external duct has an inlet and an outlet. The height of the outlet is less than that of the inlet. The inlet and the outlet are arranged such that, in use, an uppermost point of the inlet is located above an uppermost point of the outlet. The internal duct is in fluid communication with the external duct via one or more openings arranged in the internal duct or at a junction between the internal duct and the external duct. The internal duct is configured to be in fluid communication with an interior of the vehicle via a slot defined by the vehicle. The or each opening is arranged such that, in use, the uppermost point of the outlet of the external duct is located below a lowermost point of the or each opening.

The vented roof panel comprises a planar member that includes a shape and a curvature that match the overhead portion to enable closely attaching the vented roof panel to the roll-over protection system. The planar member is formed of any of various plastics, such as injection molded plastic, or other similar materials. An air scoop including an air inlet port is centrally disposed in the planar member. The air inlet port is disposed in a forward-facing portion of the air scoop and configured to direct an airstream from outside to underneath the vented roof panel. The vented roof panel may be attached to tubular frame members comprising the roll-over protection system by way of one or more suitable fasteners.

The first free flow opening (2) or the second free flow opening (3) is provided with heat recovery ventilation means (4) and the heat recovery ventilation means (4) is arranged to enable free air flow through the heat recovery ventilation means (4), when the heat recovery ventilation means (4) is not in operation or the heat recovery ventilation means (4) is provided in a third free flow opening (5) if passage through the heat recovery ventilation means (4) is blocked or at least substantially reduced when the heat recovery ventilation means (4) is not in operation. A method for ventilating a mobile accommodation vehicle (1) is also disclosed.
