METHOD OF DISTRIBUTING AIR VENTILATION IN A VEHICLE
An air handling system for a heating, ventilation, and air conditioning system of a motor vehicle includes a conduit configured to convey air from the air handling system to a vent of the air handling system. A control door is rotatably disposed in the conduit. The control door selectively rotates between a first position and a second position. The first position blocks passage of the air flowing through the conduit. The second position blocks passage of the air flowing through a first portion of the conduit and allows the air to flow through a second portion of the conduit. A control feature is disposed in the second portion of the conduit to control at least one of a volumetric flow rate and a pressure of the air flowing through the second portion.
VEHICULAR CHILD SAFETY SYSTEM
A vehicular child safety system is provided. The vehicular child safety system is adapted to first detect if a child has been left in a vehicle unattended, and then adapted to help the child through utilizing currently provided technology present in today's vehicles. The vehicular child safety system may be retrofitted to pre-existing vehicles with sufficient electronic functionality. The present invention embodies a method for preventing harm to such a child by automatically improving ventilation and providing access through automatically opening windows and unlocking doors, as well as by automatically contacting emergency services if no intervention is provided to remove the child from the vehicle within a predetermined time, thereby ensuring that the child is in safe environment as soon as possible.
Speed-based window control
Apparatus and methods are disclosed for speed-based window control. An example disclosed vehicle includes a speed sensor and a body control module. When a side window is open, the body control module monitors, via the speed sensor, a speed of the vehicle. In response to the speed of the vehicle satisfying a first speed threshold, the body control module closes the side window and then, after the side window is closed, activates an air conditioner.
VEHICLE BASED ACCESSORY VENTILATION
Some embodiments may provide a vehicle-based ventilation system for an accessory. The system may include a source of climate-controlled airflow, a duct, and an accessory climate sensor. The duct may include a source-end and an accessory-end. The source end may be configured to couple to the source of the climate-controlled airflow. The accessory-end may be configured to couple to an accessory. The accessory climate sensor may be positioned within the accessory.
In-cabin air quality sensing and purge system for autonomous vehicles
A system and method are provided and include at least one sensor and a controller. The at least one sensor generates data related to indoor air conditions of an autonomous vehicle. The at least one sensor includes at least one of a smoke sensor and an odor/air quality sensor. The controller is in communication with the at least one sensor and controls at least one vehicle system of the autonomous vehicle based on the data related to indoor air conditions of the autonomous vehicle received from the at least one sensor. The at least one vehicle system includes at least one of an HVAC system and a window actuator system. The controller controls the at least one vehicle system to purge and/or exhaust at least one of smoke and an odor detected within the autonomous vehicle.
CLOSABLE AIR VENT
A closable air vent may be bonded to a laminated or tempered windshield used on UTV or other types of vehicles. The air vent may include a vent body with a flap opening and a bond channel, a flap pivotably secured in the flap opening on a flap pivot, and an actuator coupled with the flap via a roll pin and displaceable between a flap closed position and a flap open position. In the flap closed position, the roll pin is disposed on one side of the flap pivot, and in the flap open position, the roll pin is disposed on an opposite side of the flap pivot.
Window vent
A window vent system including a window vent having a unitary, one-piece panel body including a first panel portion and a second panel portion oriented generally parallel to the first panel portion. The first panel portion has a set of openings formed therein and the second panel portion has a set of openings formed therein. Each opening of the second panel portion is at least partially aligned with an opening of the first panel portion.
Caravan Window with Ventilation
Rooflight or window 1 for vehicles, particularly for a recreational vehicle, comprising a window frame 2, the window frame 2 comprises a ventilation path allowing air exchange between the inside and the outside of the vehicle, wherein the window frame 2 comprises ventilation slots 4, 5 at least at a surface 8 of the window frame 2 facing the inside of the vehicle, wherein the rooflight or window 1 further comprises a cover 3 being connected to the window frame 2 and covering the surface 8 of the window frame 2 facing the inside of the vehicle, wherein along the outer edge of the window frame 2 a circumferential gap 9 is present between the window frame 2 and the cover 3 functioning as a canal for ventilation air.
Device for using the HVAC system of a vehicle
A device comprising, an inlet configured to attach to a HVAC outlet in a cabin of a vehicle, a closing plate configured to be arranged in an opening from a cabin of the vehicle to the exterior of the vehicle, and an air conduit from the inlet trough an aperture in the closing plate, to a device outlet.
