The annular plate has an elongated protrusion protruding toward the mounting leg, the elongated protrusion spaced from the collar with a predetermined clearance formed radially outside the collar. A deformation limit of the collar is defined by the elongated protrusion being in contact with the collar.

A vapor cycle refrigeration system for an aircraft comprises a compressor, a condenser unit with a condenser radiator, a condenser fan and a condenser air duct configured to direct a stream of air generated by the condenser fan through the condenser radiator, an expansion device, an evaporator unit with an evaporator radiator, an evaporator fan and an evaporator air duct configured to direct a stream of air generated by the evaporator fan through the evaporator radiator, and a piping system connecting the compressor, the condenser radiator, the expansion device and the evaporator radiator in a closed circuit for a refrigerant, wherein each of the compressor, the condenser radiator, the condenser fan, the expansion device, the evaporator radiator, the evaporator fan and the piping system is fully supported directly or indirectly by at least one of the condenser air duct and the evaporator air duct such that the system is self-supporting.

The pipe connection part has: a first connection part having a first connection pipe which guides the refrigerant to an expansion valve; a second connection part having a second connection pipe through which the cooled refrigerant returns; a third connection part having a third connection pipe which guides the refrigerant to a compressor; a fourth connection part having a fourth connection pipe which guides the refrigerant into the tank part from an outdoor heat exchanger; and a first flow path switching valve which allows the inside of the tank part to communicate with the third connection pipe during heating operations, and allows the second connection pipe to communicate with the third connection pipe during cooling operations.

The components are mounted in a housing with sidewalls, bottom wall and top wall in a vertically stacked configuration with a horizontally mounted frame approximately bisecting the housing. A fan below the frame dissipates heat into or through the bottom of a vehicle and a fan above the frame circulates cool air into a passenger compartment. The air conditioning system is powered by a 12-volt direct current, which is fused (15 amperes) running off the vehicle's battery or the alternator and is operated by an electronic control circuit.

The first outlet is connected to an inside heat exchanger through a second conduit. The second outlet is connected, through a bypass conduit, to a third conduit. A liquid of the refrigerant flows out of the body through the first outlet in a cooling mode. A vapor of the refrigerant flows out of the body through the second outlet in a heating mode.

The integrated compressor system generally includes a mounting assembly, a first compressor and a valve. The mounting assembly can be mounted directly on a condenser of an existing air conditioning system. The first compressor and the valve are mounted directly on the mounting assembly. The valve has a first valve inlet, a second valve inlet and a valve outlet. When assembly and integrated with an existing AC system, the first valve inlet is fluidly coupled to a compressor outlet of the first compressor, the second valve inlet is fluidly coupled to a compressor outlet of the compressor of existing AC system, and a valve outlet is fluidly connected to a condenser inlet of the condenser.

According to some embodiments, there is provided an air conditioning system for a vehicle. The vehicle may be a locomotive. The air conditioning system includes a combination module for mounting in or on a vehicle. The combination module includes a condenser coil and a compressor assembly. The compressor assembly includes an electric motor. The combination module may be mounted to cover a hole in an outer wall or floor of the vehicle, such that air enters the hole ventilates the condenser coil. The system also includes at least one air handler for mounting in a cab of the vehicle, remote from combination module. Each air handler comprises a respective evaporator coil. A combination module including a compressor assembly is also provided. A method for installing the combination module is also provided.
