Diffusers may comprise a body defining a hollow interior and having an air flow path extending therethough; a reservoir; a wick extending from the reservoir and into the hollow interior of the body; and a closure mechanism configured to selectably isolate the wick and the reservoir from the air flow path extending through the body. Wick-based diffusers may be mounted to a support device via a low-friction mounting mechanism located above a center of gravity of the diffuser, such that the diffuser self-aligns in an upright orientation under the influence of gravity.

Vehicle air freshener

An air freshener includes a housing; scented beads contained within the housing; and a mounting clip for attaching the housing to a source of pressurized air. The housing has several air flow slots or openings and is rotatably coupled to the mounting clip so it can be rotated relative to the mounting clip and the air source to which it is attached to provide several levels of fragrance, including a burst of fragrance achieved by manually rotating the housing relative to the mounting clip to tumble and stir the scented beads in the housing.

A deodorizing device for a vehicle comprises at least one deodorizing body and at least one spreader clamp fixed in or at the deodorizing body. The spreader clamp is intended for mounting the deodorizing body to a grid or to one or more slats/lamellae of an air outlet in the interior of a vehicle. The spreader clamp has two elastically deformable clamping members that extend in longitudinal direction of the spreader clamp and away from the deodorizing body and that are opposite one another transverse to the longitudinal direction. The clamping members are made of a first plastic material. Portions of the clamping members that are directly opposite one another, however, are of a second, softer plastic material than the first plastic material. This effects a good fixation at the air outlet and in addition prevents its scratching.

In an example embodiment, the volatile substance diffuser further comprises a clip secured to the housing and configured to removably secure the volatile substance diffuser to a slat of an air vent (e.g., an automobile air vent, building air vent, and/or the like).

The apparatus has a reservoir containing a volatile composition for air freshening and/or malodor removal and a composite membrane in fluid communication with the volatile composition. The composite membrane has a first side facing the reservoir and a second side opposite the first side. At least one of the first side and the second side has a diffusion regulating coating, the diffusion regulating coating including a hydrophobic/oleophobic material having at least one fluoro-alkyl group. The volatile composition includes at least 20% of perfume raw materials by weight of the composition, the at least 20% of perfume raw materials having an average vapor pressure equal to or greater than 0.01 torr at 25 degrees Celsius. The apparatus has an average vapor release rate from 0.2 mg/hr*cm.sup.2 to 5 mg/hr*cm.sup.2 at an air flow rate of 5 m/s and a temperature of 21 degrees Celsius.

An automatic car air freshener system is disclosed that is configured to integrate into existing ducting of a vehicle and selectively disperse a measured amount of scent matter into the ducts for dispersion into the cabin of the vehicle. The system includes a storage unit containing a volume of scented matter, a release mechanism in communication with the storage unit, and a control unit in communication with the release mechanism and configured to regulate the dispersion of the scented matter from the storage unit in accordance with the desires of a user. The control unit is an interface for the passenger to regulate scent dispersion. A sensor is also optionally included to monitor air quality from the ambient air.
