PASSENGER CABIN AIR CONTROL SYSTEMS AND METHODS
A vehicle system includes: at least one of: a particulate matter sensor configured to measure an amount of particulate within a passenger cabin of a vehicle; and a volatile organic compounds (VOC) sensor configured to measure an amount of VOCs within the passenger cabin of the vehicle; and a heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system including a blower; a blower control module configured to: operate the blower in a first direction and blow air into the passenger cabin of the vehicle; and based on at least one of the amount of particulate and the amount of VOCs within the passenger cabin of the vehicle, selectively operate the blower in a second direction that is opposite the first direction, thereby blowing air from within the passenger cabin out through the HVAC system.
SYSTEM AND PROCESS FOR CARBON DIOXIDE REMOVAL OF AIR OF PASSENGER CABINS OF VEHICLES
The present invention relates to systems and methods for conrolling the atmosphere in the cabin (1) of a vehicle. The system comprises a carbon dioxide removal conduit (2) comprising a regenerable carbon dioxide removal chamber (5,6) containing a carbon dioxide sorbent material and a regeneration circuit (7) arranged to expel the desorbed carbon diocide at a location exterior (8) of the cabin (1) The system is operable to maintain a carbon dioxide level below 1000 ppm in the passenger cabin for a period of at least 5 minutes while restricting the flow of air from outside the vehicle into the passenger cabin to 10 L/s or less.
ULTRAVIOLET RADIATION MATRIX MEMBRANE APPARATUS, SYSTEM AND METHODS THEREOF
The present disclosure is directed to a novel redesigned or retrofitted cabin air filtration system utilizing an ultraviolet light, radiation, or an energy matrix membrane and related technology to eliminate toxins such as viruses, bacteria, mold, fungi, rickettsia, protozoa, etc. from the air system in a vehicle, such as an automobile, marine vehicle airplane, etc., thereby improving the current cabin air filter functionality and providing a sterile air distribution environment throughout the cabin of the vehicle or small area.
Process and apparatus for the removal of metabolic carbon dioxide from a confined space
An apparatus and process for separating and removing CO.sub.2 generated by one or more passengers in the air in the interior of a cabin of a vehicle. Provided are: —a first stream of the air from the interior of the cabin to an interior of a container holding a loose particulate sorbent for CO.sub.2; —a second stream of air depleted in CO.sub.2 from the interior of the container holding the sorbent to an interior of the cabin; —a third stream of the air from exterior of the cabin to the inferior of the container holding the sorbent; and —a fourth stream of air enriched in CO.sub.2 from the interior of the container holding the sorbent to an exterior of the cabin.
Air purification device
An air purification device includes an adsorption block, a housing, an introduction port for indoor air, an introduction port for heated air, a return port for indoor air, and a discharge port for used regeneration air. The adsorption block adsorbs purification target substances in indoor air, and is regenerated by dispersing the adsorbed purification target substances by circulating heated air. The housing accommodates the adsorption block therein. The introduction port for indoor air and the introduction port for heated air are provided on one end side of the housing. The return port for indoor air and the discharge port for used regeneration air are provided on the other end side of the housing. An insulating layer is provided between the housing and an outer surface of the adsorption block.
VEHICLE AIR CONDITIONER EQUIPPED WITH PHOTOCATALYST
A vehicle air conditioner is equipped with a photocatalyst which is irradiated with light so that bacteria generated in the photocatalyst is removed. In particular, an entire area of the photocatalyst is irradiated with the light using a small number of light sources so that sterilization effect of a filter can be improved.
HVAC apparatus for a vehicle
A heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) apparatus for a vehicle includes: a case, which is configured to communicate with the outside of the vehicle and which includes a discharge flow path connected to an interior of the vehicle; an outside air inlet, which is located in the case and into which air is introduced from the outside of the vehicle; an inside air inlet configured to communicate with the interior of the vehicle; a filter unit located adjacent to the discharge flow path; an inside/outside air switching door provided adjacent to the outside air inlet and the inside air inlet and configured to selectively open the outside air inlet and the inside air inlet; and an auxiliary switching door, which includes a depression located at a lower end of the filter unit and which is selectively opened so as to allow the depression and an outdoor outlet to be fluidly connected.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS USEFUL FOR AIR TREATMENT IN A VEHICLE
Described are vehicles having viral inactivation and/or air filtration systems, kits and methods for retrofitting vehicles for viral inactivation and/or filtration of air within a passenger compartment of the vehicles, and methods for viral inactivation and/or filtration of air within passenger compartments of vehicles. The vehicles can be mass transit vehicles such as busses and the viral inactivation and/or filtration systems can include viral inactivation elements such as UV lamps and/or electrostatic filtration apparatuses mounted within a housing or frame mounted or mountable to a wall of the vehicles.
Fresh air filter regeneration for an HVAC system in a work vehicle
An HVAC system for use with an operator cab of a work vehicle is characterized by an air duct arrangement in communication with a first fan outlet and second fan outlet. At least one air flow diverter is positioned within the air duct arrangement for selectively diverting air flowing through the air duct arrangement. During a “fresh air filter regeneration” mode the at least one air flow diverter closes the air duct arrangement, the first fan is activated, and the second fan is deactivated, whereby discharge air from the first fan flows through the second fan in a reverse direction and flows through the fresh air filter.
