Determining displacement from air filtration media

An apparatus and a system is provided that may be utilized to determine oil migration and oil displacement from a pre-oiled air filter. The present invention may also be utilized to determine if oil is displaced from the air filter onto a portion of the apparatus for visualization to a user. The present invention utilizes a demonstration apparatus having a system for forcing air through the oil subjected air filter thereby attempting to force displacement of the oil from the air filter. The apparatus utilizes a blowing means whereby the oil infused air filter is subject to higher than normal air flow and whereby the apparatus has a deflection portion whereby if oil is displaced from the air filter, it is deflected onto the deflection portion where it would be physically viewable to an observer present in the vicinity of the apparatus.

The air filtration unit includes a dirty air inlet, a filtered air outlet, and a filter chamber disposed fluidly between the dirty air inlet and the filtered air outlet, the filter chamber housing a filter element. The dirty air inlet is positioned vertically below the filter chamber.

Device for the combined reduction of the carbon dioxide and water or moisture content, motor vehicle, and method

A device for reducing a carbon dioxide and water content in an enclosed air volume has first and second sorption units for sorbing carbon dioxide and water. The first and second sorption units can be transferred from a sorption mode into a desorption mode and vice versa. In the sorption mode, the first and second sorption units sorb carbon dioxide and water from raw air of the enclosed air volume. In the desorption mode, the first and second desorption units desorb carbon dioxide and water to supplied regeneration air. An air distribution device can switch the first and second sorption units, based on the carbon dioxide and water content, alternately from sorption mode into desorption mode such that, in at least one operating state of the device, one of the first and second sorption units is in sorption mode while the other is in desorption mode.

Method and apparatus for air treatment employing catalyst material

An apparatus and method for treating air. A housing can enclose a heating zone and an oxidizing zone positioned downstream of the heating zone with respect to a flow direction of the air being treated. A catalyst in the oxidizing zone oxidizes contaminants from the air, and an air mover positioned is configured to move air from an air inlet through the housing to an air outlet. An air treatment cycle can include an air cleaning mode at a high air flow and a self-cleaning mode at a lower air flow. A heater is operated during the self cleaning mode to oxidize contaminants that on the catalyst from the air cleaning mode.

A cabin air control system comprises an upper housing including a first end and an opposite second end, and a lower housing including a first end, an opposite second end, an air inlet passage with an inlet opening at the first end of the lower housing, and a regeneration air chamber communicating with the air inlet passage via a regeneration air port. The system further includes a single adsorption unit configured to adsorb moisture and/or carbon dioxide, a heater disposed in the regeneration air chamber, the heater being configured to heat air before being delivered to the adsorption unit, and the heated air being used to regenerate the adsorption unit, and a flap control assembly configured to switch between an adsorption mode and a regeneration mode.

SELECTIVE FILTRATION LEVEL AIR TREATMENT SYSTEM

A selective filtration system for an operator cab attached to an agricultural vehicle. A HVAC unit supplies conditioned air to an operator space selectively from a CAT 4 filter and a CAT 2 filter. A pressurization blower and two way valve controls flow from the CAT 4 filter to the HVAC unit. Control of flow or isolation of the CAT 2 filter is provided by pressure variations within the system. The CAT 4 filter and CAT 2 filter are isolated from the ambient when they are not in use.

Vehicle filter system

There is described a HVAC pre-filter system for a vehicle. The pre-filter system acts to prevent relatively large or coarse debris from reaching a dedicated HVAC filter through the use of at least one pre-filter element, which is provided in at least one inlet/outlet connected to ambient air. The pre-filter system has an inlet to supply air to the HVAC system, and an outlet to allow for air to exit from a vehicle cab interior, and the inlet/outlet can be switched to be fluidly coupled with either the HVAC inlet or the cab outlet. Dependent on which inlet or outlet the inlet/outlet is coupled with, the flow direction in the inlet/outlet can be controlled. Accordingly, the pre-filter can be cleaned of accumulated dust and debris by reversing the direction of airflow through the inlet/outlet.

Method of cleaning a vehicle heat exchanger

A method for automatically cleaning a vehicle's heat exchanger or air filter is provided. In use, once the system determines that the heat exchanger/air filter should be cleaned, for example based on total operational time or the number of use cycles or air flow, the system temporarily reverses the direction of the corresponding fan assembly, thereby reversing the flow of air through the heat exchanger/air filter and forcing out dust, dirt and other debris.
