The pillar panel is fixedly attached to at least the second edge portion and the attachment area such that the inner door panel and the pillar panel define a hollow B-pillar structure. The pillar panel further includes an offset portion that is spaced apart from a central portion of the attachment area of the inner door panel such that the attachment area and the offset portion define a recessed area therebetween. The first cushioning pad has a main body installed within the recessed area between the offset portion of the pillar panel and the inner door panel.
MECHANICAL EMERGENCY LATCH RELEASE SYSTEM FOR VEHICLE DOOR AND METHOD
A closure panel for a motor vehicle having a power-operated latch assembly with a mechanical emergency release system and method of mechanical actuation of the power-operated latch assembly is provided. The mechanical emergency release system of power-operated latch assembly has a manually actuatable release lever and a cover for hiding the manually actuatable release lever from a user within an interior cabin of the motor vehicle. The manually actuatable release lever is accessible to the user in the interior cabin for activation after the cover has been moved.
ENERGY ABSORPTION STRUCTURE
A vehicle door includes an interior panel including a housing extending from a first side of the interior panel and defining a cavity. An energy absorption structure is positioned within the cavity and includes a plurality of members arranged in a plurality of rows. Each of the plurality of members includes at least one arcuate support coupled with a rib and having first and second ends. The at least one arcuate support of each member is coupled to the at least one arcuate support of a neighboring member at one of the first and second ends.
Latch assembly for motor vehicle closure system having power release mechanism with mechanical release and reset feature
A power closure latch assembly with a manually actuatable release and reset feature is provided. The release feature allows the latch assembly to be mechanically released from within a cabin of the vehicle such that a vehicle closure panel can be opened, while the reset feature allows the latch assembly to be manually and mechanically reset from within the cabin of the vehicle to allow the vehicle closure panel to be closed and latched.
VEHICLE DOOR COUPLING DEVICE
The present disclosure relates to a vehicle door coupling device, and more specifically, to a vehicle door coupling device for mechanically coupling together a first member having a first hole and a second member having a second hole at a position corresponding to the first hole. The vehicle door coupling device includes: a stopper configured to support the first member; and a shaft including a crossbar configured to support the second member and couple the second member to the first member when the shaft is rotated to a final coupling position, and a hook portion configured to cause the shaft to be caught on the first member in a temporary coupling position, the shaft being connected to support the stopper and the crossbar, wherein the shaft is shaped such that the shaft is inserted into the first hole of the first member and the second hole of the second member and rotatably passes therethrough, and an material for airtight is provided on the shaft to maintain airtightness between the shaft and the first hole of the first member in the final coupling position.
Door assembly for a motor vehicle
A door assembly for a motor vehicle is provided having a door body and a door trim panel attached to the door body on the vehicle inside, with a first impact region and a second impact region formed integrally therewith, wherein at each of the impact regions, an intermediate space is formed between the door trim panel and the door body. In order to allow an optimized protection of an occupant's pelvic region from impact by a vehicle door in a side impact, it is provided that a nominal break line is formed between the first impact region and the second impact region, along which the first impact region or seat impact region can be separated from the second impact region by a force acting in the vehicle transverse direction.
VEHICLE DOOR POCKET
An apparatus, according to an exemplary aspect of the present disclosure includes, among other things, a vehicle door panel, a removeable structure having a retention member fixed on the vehicle door panel, and a holding element associated with the retention member to provide a pocket that can be configured in different ways to accommodate a plurality of powered devices. A power interface in the vehicle door panel powers at least one of the plurality of powered devices. A method according to an exemplary aspect of the present disclosure includes, among other things, providing the power interface in the vehicle door panel to power at least one of the plurality of powered devices, and providing a communications link between at least one of the plurality of powered devices and a vehicle touchscreen or control.
CONVERTIBLE VEHICLE DOORS
A convertible vehicle door includes a high visibility off-road frame door including a hinge assembly to hingedly couple to a vehicle body, and an exterior on-road panel configured to hingedly couple to the hinge assembly outboard of the high visibility off-road frame door. The convertible vehicle door is convertible between an on-road door configuration where the exterior on-road panel is coupled to the high visibility off-road frame door, and an off-road door configuration where the exterior on-road panel is detached from the high visibility off-road frame door.
SPEAKER SYSTEM AND VEHICLE DOOR
Disclosed is a speaker system that includes a first panel that is an outer plate of a vehicle door, a second panel that is disposed on a vehicle interior side of the vehicle door, a third panel that is disposed between the first panel and the second panel, a speaker unit that has a sound emitting surface for emitting a sound toward a vehicle interior, and spacers that are disposed between the speaker unit and the third panel.
