Bracket to connect interior door trim grab handle with integrated window regulator carrier
An integrated window regulator carrier for a door of a vehicle comprising: a side; a vertical channel recessed into the side, with a first channel wall and a second channel wall defining lateral edges of the vertical channel; a first receiver disposed to a first side of the vertical channel, and projecting outward from the side; and a second receiver disposed to a second side of the vertical channel and projecting outward from the side, and opposing the first receiver. Each of the first receiver and the second receiver comprises: a bottom retaining surface; a first retaining surface extending at least approximately orthogonally upward from the bottom retaining surface; and a second retaining surface opposing the first retaining surface, the second retaining surface extending at least approximately orthogonally upward from the bottom retaining surface. Each of the first receiver and the second receiver can include a snap-fit receiver.
Collapsible side door latch module
A discloses latch module assembly includes a channel and a bracket supported on the channel. The bracket supports a handle assembly and is movable between a collapsed position and an installed position to enable assembly through small openings within a door. A method of installing a door latch module assembly is also disclosed.
Interior cover mount assembly
An interior cover mount assembly includes a base member and an interior cover including a clip and the clip includes an arm section and a head section having a width greater than that of the arm section. The base member has an insertion stopper hole through which the head section is inserted and a projection projecting from the base member toward the interior cover and disposed near the holding section. The insertion stopper hole includes an insertion section through which the head section is inserted and a holding section having a width smaller than that of the head section and greater than that of the arm section and where the arm section is arranged. In the interior cover that is mounted on the base member, the clip is fit in the insertion stopper hole such that the head section overlaps the holding section and the projection in the mounting direction.
Automotive door module for window regulator
A vehicle door assembly includes a door module and a door panel. The door module has a back plate with a periphery bearing attachment orifices defining a base plane. At least one guide rail extends in a rail direction in a rail plane offset from the base plane and has a connected edge and a free edge. The connected edge is attached to the back plate, and the free edge is shaped for slidably attaching a carrier plate for a window. The guide rail vertically protrudes beyond the periphery of the back platen. A void in the rail plane intersects a trajectory of the connected edge. The void provides access through the rail plane to the periphery of the back plate, wherein an attachment orifice is disposed in the void. The door panel has a central hole and attachment openings aligned with the attachment orifices of the door module.
METHOD OF ASSEMBLING A COMPOSITE SIDE CABIN STRUCTURE WITH INTEGRATED STRUCTURAL CORE FOR A VEHICLE
A method of assembling at least two types of vehicles with different powertrain requirements on the same assembly line is provided. The method includes assembling a first structural body component for a first vehicle type including a first powertrain requirement. The first structural body component comprises a first structural core surrounded by a first fiber reinforced material having a first thickness. The first structural body component has a first external geometry. The method includes assembling a second structural body component for a second vehicle type that has a second powertrain requirement different from the first powertrain requirement. The second structural body component comprises a second structural core surrounded by a second fiber reinforced material having a second thickness different from the first thickness. The second structural body component has a second external geometry that is the same in shape and dimension as the first external geometry.
Organo-sheet for motor vehicles
In a method for manufacturing a structural component for motor vehicles by hot forming of a plate-shaped semi-finished product reinforced of thermoplastic material with embedded continuous fibers several layers of a thermoplastic plastic matrix with and without embedded continuous fibers are formed to a compound.
Fastening clip device configured to secure a door module to a door frame of a vehicle
A device for securing a first unit to a second unit includes a first component having a body and a head. The body is configured to be inserted in at least one of a first orifice of the first unit and a second orifice of the second unit. The first component includes a retainer at a lower longitudinal end of the body. A second component is configured to couple to the first component. At least one of the first and second components includes at least one cam surface and the other of the first and second components includes at least one follower configured to cooperate with the at least one cam surface, and to transform a rotational movement of the first component into a longitudinal translation movement of the first component in relation to the second component so that the retainer bears on the lower surface of the second unit.
Door assembly with collapsible carrier and water shield
A door assembly for a motor vehicle comprised of an outer door panel and an inner door panel interconnected to define a door panel structure having an internal door cavity. A collapsible carrier module is configured to be oriented in a collapsed arrangement to facilitate installation into the door cavity through an opening in the inner door panel. The collapsible carrier module can be moved from its collapsed arrangement into an expanded arrangement upon installation within the door cavity to facilitate subsequent mounting to the door panel structure. The collapsible carrier module includes a barrier configured to close off the opening in the inner panel.
Upper reinforcement for a door trim panel and method of tuning performance characteristics thereof
An upper reinforcement for a door trim panel includes a reinforcement channel, and a rib extending across the reinforcement channel. More particularly, the rib includes a first end section that engages a first wall of the channel, a second end section that engages a third wall of the channel and an intermediate section that extends across a window in the second wall of the channel.
INTERIOR PANEL INCLUDING CAPACITIVE CHANGE DETECTION FOR AN INTERIOR OF A VEHICLE AND A METHOD FOR MAKING THE SAME
Interior panels for interiors of vehicles, vehicles, and methods for making interior panels for interiors of vehicles are provided. In one example, the interior panel includes an outer covering having a first surface. A second surface is disposed opposite the first surface. The second surface has a pattern formed therein that is hidden from the first surface. A light source is operative to generate light and is disposed adjacent to the second surface generally aligned with the pattern. When the light source generates light, an illuminated pattern corresponding to the pattern is visible on the first surface. A capacitive sensor is configured to generate a capacitance change signal in response to change in capacitance of the capacitive sensor. A controller is in communication with the capacitive sensor to receive the capacitance change signal and is configured to generate a command signal in response to the capacitance change signal.
