Vehicle door structure
A vehicle door structure includes an inner door panel and an impact pad. The inner door panel has an access opening that extends from an inboard surface to an outboard surface of the inner door panel. The access opening is defined by an upper edge, a lower edge, a forward edge and a rearward edge. The impact pad has a main portion and a block portion. The main portion has a lower attachment section and an upper attachment section that are both located along an inboard side of the upper and lower edges. The lower attachment section is attached to the lower edge and the upper attachment section is attached to the upper edge. A section of the block portion is located along the outboard side of the inner door panel. The impact pad is spaced apart from the forward edge of the access opening.

Load transmission member
A load transmission member includes an outside load transmission member attached to one face of a panel member; an inside load transmission member attached to a position corresponding to the outside load transmission member at the other face of the panel member, and a temporary attachment device provided on at least one of the outside load transmission member or the inside load transmission member for temporarily attaching to the panel member. A load is transmitted through the panel member from the outside load transmission member to the inside load transmission member.
REINFORCED MOTOR VEHICLE DOOR
A motor vehicle door includes an exterior panel, a control to open the door, a device to reinforce the door with an adhesive sandwich plate made up of sheets of composite materials to be bonded to an interior part of the exterior panel, and a rigid section piece bonded to the sandwich plate and made of composite materials.
Integrated lateral load-transmittal system
According to one aspect of the present invention, a load-transmittal system for a vehicle includes a cross member of a vehicle frame extending substantially perpendicular to a vehicle door. A pusher is disposed within a cavity defined between inner and outer sheet metal panels of the vehicle door, wherein the pusher is disposed distal from the cross member to define an idle state. A container receptacle is disposed between the pusher and the cross member, wherein the container receptacle defines a transmittal zone of the vehicle door. When the vehicle door experiences a side-impact load, the side-impact load moves the pusher through the transmittal zone and into at least partial engagement with the cross member to define a collapsed position of the pusher. In this manner, the side-impact load is transferred through the pusher to the cross member.
VEHICLE SIDE DOOR BOLSTER
A vehicle side door assembly includes a first beam, a second beam, and a bolster spanning from the first beam to the second beam. The bolster can be nylon. The bolster can include a grid of ribs that establish an array of pockets on an outboard side of the bolster, and a grid of ribs that establish another array of pockets on an inboard side of the bolster.
Shock absorber
A shock absorber which can be easily attached and which can reduce the installation space is provided. The shock absorber in accordance with the present invention is characterized by including a front wall to receive shock, a rear wall opposing the front wall, and peripheral walls connecting peripheries of the front wall and the rear wall, and at least one attaching section to attach onto an attaching object is formed to be integral with the rear wall, and shock received by the front wall is propagated via the rear wall to the attaching object.
