Cable deployable across vehicle door opening

A vehicle includes a vehicle body including a front pillar and a rear pillar spaced along a vehicle-longitudinal axis. The front pillar and the rear pillar define a door opening therebetween. A first track is supported by the front pillar and a second track is supported by the rear pillar. A bar extends from the first track to the second track. The bar is moveable relative to the first track and the second track from a lowered position to a raised position. The bar extends across the door opening in the raised position. The vehicle includes a cable that includes a first end and a second end. The first end is fixed to the bar and moveable with the bar from the lowered position to the raised position. The second end is fixed to the vehicle body.

A casting housing for a vehicle body having an enlarged passenger opening includes a body extending from a first housing end to a second housing end to define a compartment. At least one of a front door pivot-type door motion assembly is disposed within the compartment adjacent the first housing end or a rear door pivot-type door motion assembly is disposed within the compartment adjacent the second housing end, with preferably both disposed within the compartment. The casting housing is attached to the vehicle body, preferably along a lower body side rocker structure, to indirectly attach the front and/or rear door pivot-type door motion assemblies to the vehicle body at any time during manufacture of the vehicle, after which the front and rear doors are attached to the front and rear pivot-type door motion assemblies for pivoting the doors relative to the enlarged door opening between open and closed positions.

Boarding and alighting step-mounted vehicle

A boarding and alighting step-mounted vehicle includes an entrance provided in a vehicle side portion, a sliding door having two door portions for opening and closing the getting-on/off port by sliding in directions opposite to each other in the vehicle front-rear direction, and a step body having a step body for allowing an occupant to step when getting on and off the vehicle. The step is switchable between the use state and the closed state by rotating the vehicle lower portion on the entrance side as a pivot axis. In the use state of the step, the step body is in a posture deployed outward of the vehicle. In the closed state of the step, the step body is closed on the vehicle side and is in a posture facing the sliding door.
