A one-touch latching mechanism holds the shelf in the closed position.

The upper surface (63) is a surface extending from an upper end (62a) of the general surface (62) toward an outside (22) of the vehicle. The grip (45) is provided so as to project upward from the upper surface (63).

A wheeled vehicle includes a rear opening that is formed in a rear surface of a vehicle body, a tailgate that is provided to open and close the rear opening, a sub door opening that is formed in a transverse portion of the tailgate, and a sub door that is provided to open and close the sub door opening. In the tailgate, a tailgate side window panel is provided on the tailgate, and a sub door side window panel is provided on the sub door. These tailgate side window panel and the sub door side window panel are made substantially level with each other while being disposed continuously in a transverse direction. The control unit prohibits the operation of a wiper device that moves over the individual window panels so as to clean and remove water therefrom, with the sub door left open.

The tailgate has: an inner panel having an attachment surface portion substantially parallel to a plane whose normal is in the direction in which a rotating shaft of the hinge extends; and a hinge attachment portion, which is formed on the attachment surface portion and is for attaching the hinge thereto. The tailgate is provided with a stiffener attached together with the hinge to the tailgate. The stiffener has a first surface portion formed along the attachment surface portion.

The multi-way liftgate assembly provides multiple secure openings to the cargo area of a vehicle that typically has only one secure opening to the cargo area.

A two-stage open tailgate includes a handle assembly disposed at an outer surface of a half door, wherein the half door is opened when the handle assembly performs a first operation, a full door disposed at a rear surface of the half door and opened in an integrated state with the half door when the handle assembly performs a second operation, a first striker mounted to one end of the half door, a second striker mounted to a vehicle body such that the second striker is disposed adjacent to the first striker in a closed state of the half door, a dual latch formed at one end of the full door at positions respectively corresponding to the first striker and the second striker, wherein the handle assembly and the dual latch are spaced apart from each other when the half door is opened.
