An electromechanical strut for moving a closure member between open and closed positions relative to a vehicle body includes a housing having an inner surface bounding a cavity extending along a central axis between opposite first and second ends. A power screw is disposed in the cavity in operable communication with a motor, with a gear assembly operably connecting the motor to the power screw. An extensible member has an outer cover tube received in the housing cavity and a drive mechanism for converting rotary motion of the power screw into linear motion of the extensible member. An annular gap extends between the inner surface of the housing and an outer surface of the outer cover tube. An annular bushing is disposed within the annular gap to minimize laterally play between the housing and the outer cover tube.

Provided is a drive device for opening and closing opening/closing body 2 supported by vehicle body 3 in an openable and closable manner. The drive device includes drive device main body 11 and boot 12. The device main body 11 is connected to vehicle body 3 and opening/closing body 2, and telescopic. A wire extending from drive device main body 11 passes through the inside of boot 12 including boot main body 31 and attachment part 32. Attachment part 32 is disposed at the end of boot main body 31 and attached to drive device main body 11, and includes protruding part 42 that protrudes toward the outside of drive device main body 11.

SPINDLE DRIVE

A spindle drive for a closure element of a vehicle is provided, wherein the spindle drive has a spindle/spindle nut mechanism, which has a spindle and a spindle nut meshing therewith for generating linear drive movements along a geometric spindle axis between a spindle-side drive connection and a spindle nut-side drive connection for channeling the drive movements, wherein the spindle is axially movably guided in a spindle guide tube which is axially fixedly connected to the spindle nut for conjoint rotation and which is axially fixedly coupled to the spindle nut-side drive connection. It is proposed that the spindle nut is axially inserted over its entire length into a portion of the spindle guide tube that is formed in such a way as to be in form-fitting engagement with the spindle nut in both directions along the geometric spindle axis and in the circumferential direction around the geometric spindle axis.

REAR DOOR ASSEMBLY

A rear door assembly has a first and second support brackets and first and second arms. The first support bracket includes a vehicle attachment portion, a first support portion and a second support portion located outboard of and lower than the first support portion when installed to a vehicle. The first arm has first and second ends. The first end is pivotally attached to the first support portion. The second arm has third and fourth ends. The third end is pivotally attached to the second support portion of the first support bracket. The second support bracket has a third support portion and a fourth support portion spaced apart from one another and a rear door attachment portion. The second end of the first arm is pivotally attached to the third support portion and the fourth end of the second arm is pivotally attached to the fourth support portion.

REAR DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY

A rear door lock assembly includes a vehicle body structure defining a rear door opening. A four-bar assembly has a first support bracket fixed to the vehicle body structure at an area adjacent to upper end of the rear door opening. A rear door is supported by a second support bracket for movement between a closed orientation covering the rear door opening and an open orientation exposing the rear door opening, a first arm of the four-bar assembly has a lock engagement structure extending therefrom. A locking member is movable between a locked orientation and an unlocked orientation. In the locked orientation the locking member engages the lock engagement structure of the first arm preventing movement of the rear door from the closed orientation and in the unlocked orientation the locking member is moved away from the lock engagement structure releasing the rear door.

A door opening and closing device includes a slider and a main link mechanism. The slider moves along a roof of the vehicle body in a front-rear direction, while supporting a proximal end portion of a back door in such a way as to be rotatable around an axis extending in a width direction. The main link mechanism includes one end and an opposite end rotatably coupled to the vehicle body and the back door, respectively. The main link mechanism adjusts a posture of the back door, depending on a door opening degree by changing a distance between a coupling point to the vehicle body and a coupling point to the back door. The main link mechanism decreases the distance as the door opening degree becomes larger.

Rear door assembly

A rear door is movable between a door closed orientation covering a rear door opening and a gutter of a vehicle body structure, and a door open orientation exposing the rear door opening and the gutter. A four-bar linkage assembly supports the rear door for movement between the door open and the door closed orientations. The four-bar linkage includes a rearward member, a forward member and an extender. The rearward member has a first end pivotally attached to the gutter, a second end attached to the rear door and a protrusion spaced apart from the first and second ends. The forward member has a first end attached to the roof structure and a second end attached to the rear door. The extender has a lower end pivotally attached to the side wall and an upper end attached to the protrusion of the rearward member.
